Computer manufacturer CompAmerica yesterday announced what they are billing as the most current powerful laptop on Earth. The new Orca X2 laptop is available now for a starting configuration price of $2,499.
The Orca X2, according to CompAmerica, is a 17†widescreen WUXGA dual core laptop which uses the AMD Athlon 64 X2 CPU, a multi-core 64 bit CPU rated from 3000+ all the way up to 4800+ MHz performance. The X2 offers four choices of video: Quadro FX Go 1400 video (alternative video boards from the nVidia 6600 and 6800 line and ATI’s Radeon x800) with 256MB of GDDR3. Other hardware options include dual SATA-150 or ATA-100 hard drives with 8MB Buffer and 72000 RPM operation, up to 2048MB PC-3200 (400MHz) dual channel DDR SDRAM and dual CD-RW or DVD-RW drives.
Other features of the new Orca X2 include eight-channel SRS WOW high definition audio with five built-in speakers, including a subwoofer and 5.1-channel S/PDIF interface, 802.11g/b wireless networking, optional Bluetooth, a full sized keyboard and Windows XP Home as the standard operating system.
