Following on from Intel’s recent unveiling of its next-generation Skylake CPUs and companion chipsets, many motherboard and other manufacturers have been updating their lineups of hardware too. Origin PC is no different, with a number of new notebook systems now available in a variety of sizes, and with all of the usual aesthetic and internal hardware customizable options you’d expect.
The first, and smaller, of the two new systems is the Origin EON15-X, featuring a 15.6 inch LED display with options for 1080P or 4K QFHD resolutions. Processor-wise, buyers can choose either an Intel i5 6600K or 6700K, and up to a GTX 980M for those who want real graphical power. Memory options range from 8GB all the way up to 16GB and there are m.2 SSD and HDD storage options of various sizes.
Pricing begins at $1,790.

The larger alternative, comes with a 17.3 inch display in a slightly bigger chassis — measuring 16.5 x 11.1 x 1.5 inches. However, there are no options for a 4K detail display, with the only upgrade offered being a jump to an IPS matt display with G-Sync support for $73 extra.
Pricing for the EON17-X starts at $1,840.
Other options are the same and both laptops have an equal three x USB 3.0 ports and a single 3.1 port, and a removable 8-cell Smart Lithium-ion battery pack (82WH) which should last just over two hours from a full charge.
If you want to customise your build, there are options for flame and metallic paint jobs, and custom designs. Every buyer of either system can also take advantage of Origin PC overclocking for $75 extra, extended warranty and dead pixel guarantees for a few dollars more, and even a $41 wooden “armor” crate for delivery, to guarantee it makes it to you in perfect condition.
Right now, Origin is offering a free “upgrade SSD” with each order, giving buyers an extra m.2 SSD without cost.
