This year’s holiday shopping season has pushed 4K monitor prices to the floor. Acer’s 28″ B286HK hit $349 on black Friday and several displays are now available with an base MSRP between $450 and $600, putting them in a range at least some will tolerate.

Turning on a 4K monitor is a striking experience if you’re used to 1080p, but there are still problems. Window’s scaling isn’t entirely up to the task and even the quickest video cards struggle to power games at 3840 x 2160. There’s also some of who are satisfied enough by their old 1080p or 1440p and don’t see increased resolution as a compelling reason to open their wallets.

Windows 11 24H2 may crash your PC if you have a certain SSD

Microsoft's Windows 11 2024 Update, more commonly referred to as 24H2, is here, but it's not without issues. Reports from disgruntled users have flooded various forums, talking about constant blue screens of death (BSOD) that have appeared since they updated to the latest version of Windows. Although Microsoft has yet to officially acknowledge the problem, the users seem to have pinpointed the cause of it, and even found a workaround.

So far, it looks like these crashes are fairly limited in scope, as they seem to happen if you have one of a few Western Digital SSD models. Other SSD vendors appear unaffected so far. As reported on the WD Community Forums, users are getting BSODs with the error "critical process has died" ever since they updated to the 24H2 update.

If you used MoneyGram last month, your data might’ve been stolen

MoneyGram, a global money transfer company, has disclosed on its website that a data breach has exposed sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, bank account details, and more to hackers.

The attack put the company's transactions at a standstill for five days, but MoneyGram also says that the hackers already had access to the network before anyone was aware. MoneyGram confirms that hackers accessed the network between September 20 and 22, 2024, and that the hackers initially focused on the Windows active directory to steal the data.
