Sony Debuts New OLED Display

Sony has announced a breakthrough in digital displays. The new OLED can wrap around a finger, while still displaying a fully functional display.

According to Trend Hunter, the display will be a 4.1-inch OLED display that integrates organic thin film transistors. It can be wrapped around something as small as 4mm in diameter.

There was no specific word on where this tech will fit in, but the possibilities are varied and far reaching.  Imagine a newspaper where each page continues to change.  But beyond the various uses for this technology, there is one simple fact that will keep this on our radar. It is very, very cool.

The display is still in production, so no word yet on when these displays will hit the market.

Dell doubles down on IPS Black, but where’s the OLED?
Two people using the Dell 6K Ultrasharp monitor on a desk.

Dell has two new high-end UltraSharp monitors, both of which boast IPS Black, a display technology that's supposed to offer higher contrast and deeper blacks. The two monitors in question are the UltraSharp 32 6K monitor (U3224KB) and UltraSharp 38 Curved USB-C Hub Monitor (U3824DW).

The 6K model is the most premium one Dell has ever sold, launching at a dizzying $3,200 price point. Beyond the 6K resolution, it also comes with a 4K HDR webcam (located in the top bezel), 140 watt-power delivery through the Thunderbolt 4 port, and DisplayHDR 600 certification.

And yet, I still haven't found a display that trounces last year's Alienware 34 QD-OLED. I'm not going to pretend it's perfect -- I've complained about its insistent burn-in prompts in the past, for example. But it's the gold standard, and as I'll explain, its strengths go beyond what you can see on a spec sheet.
It's not a TV, it's a monitor

Please let this new OLED iMac rumor be true
A student types at a desk on a pink Apple iMac 24-inch M1 desktop computer.

Apple's been coy about the iMac these past few years. Sure, it has the M1 24-inch iMac, but it's gone on pretending the beloved 27-inch iMac never existed.

A new rumor gives some optimism for those of us hoping that Apple would someday revisit a larger, more powerful version of the iMac. The report doesn't come from one of the usual leakers, such as Ross Young or Mark Gurman -- so treat it with a healthy dose of skepticism. But I, for one, am excited about the prospect of this rumor being true.
