Third Beta Of Firefox 3.1 Released

We’ve all got used to Firefox 3.0, but 3.1 is heading down the read to a computer near you. Mozilla has just given a public preview release of the third beta of 3.1. As the company said in a blog, this release is meant for “developer testing and community feedback.”

Among the new features in 3.1 are Private Browsing Mode, which lets users “Forget This Site” using the History sidebar, and also offers support for several new web technologies, such as W3C Geolocation API.

The new version supposedly offers greater stability because of the TraceMonkey Java Script and an improved Gecko layout should mean quicker content rendering.

It’s official: Apple’s next blockbuster event is scheduled for 10 a.m. PT on Monday, October 18. Clear your schedule, because this is going to be a big one.

This October Apple event is expected to feature the biggest update to the MacBook Pro in years. Specifically, the MacBook Pro 13 is getting completely remodeled into a 14-inch MacBook Pro, complete with thinner display bezels, a flat-edged design inspired by the iPad Pro, and much more port variety (including the return of MagSafe). There might even be a high-tech mini-LED display.

The M1X Mac Mini is going to see an upgrade later this year or the beginning of next year, and a tipster has now leaked its apparent schematics offering us a potential look at what the compact PC could look like, and hint at what tech specs to expect.

The schematics are provided by LeaksApplePro and match earlier leaks of the machine, though the account's tweet has since been deleted.
