USB ToughDrive One Tough Flash Hombre

Joining the legions of USB flash drives on the market today is ATP Electronics’ new USB ToughDrive. What makes this flash drive, available in 256MB, 512MB, 1GB and 2GB sizes, so unique, the companysays, is its ruggedness.   The USB ToughDrive, according to ATP Electronics, is designed with a proprietary, protectivecompound layer which completely encloses all sensitive components. This protects against the elements, making the flash drive both water and shock resistant.   Features of the USB ToughDriveinclude embedded lines which make the drive easy to grip and a transfer speed of 200x or 30MB/sec.   “Although USB flash drives are found everywhere in business and consumer markets, the needfor data security and integrity in extreme environments is largely untapped,” said Danny Lin, ATP VP of Sales and Marketing, in a statement. “Data capture and transfer is pervasive in almost everycomputing application. However, when users are working with critical information in highly mobile, remote or severe conditions such as on the water, intolerable heat, high winds or altitudes, orfreezing temperatures, data can not be compromised under any circumstance. The ToughDrive is the first flash drive specifically designed for the rugged market, giving mobile professionals the peaceof mind they need to get the job done while in the field or in the office.”
