If you’re looking for a low profile digital network camera which would allow you to monitor your home or small office via the Internet, network video products company Axis Communications thinks they may have what you are looking for. Their AXIS 207 MPEG-4 network camera is set to go on sale this month for $349.
The AXIS 207, said Axis, is about the size of a deck of cards (2″ x 1″ x 3″). It operates independently of a PC and contains a built-in web server so images can be accessed anywhere online. Features on the AXIS 207 include 30 fps full motion video using MPEG-4 compression which can work in lighting conditions as low as one lux, a built-in microphone to hear sounds in the vicinity of the camera, video motion detection, and an input/output port to control alarms, doors and locks.
“The AXIS 207 provides the highest quality video of any network camera designed specifically for entry-level users,” said Fredrik Nilsson, general manager of Axis Communications. “Security and surveillance has become increasingly important to small businesses, home offices and residences, and Axis is meeting this market’s needs by offering a high quality camera at an affordable price.”
