This backpack will keep its contents safe from thieves and pickpockets

Bobby, the Best Anti Theft backpack by XD Design
You shouldn’t have to wear your backpack on your chest in order to keep it and its contents safe from knives and thieves. And to help ensure that you can wear your backpack the way it was intended while maintaining its safety, there’s a new anti-theft product on the market. Meet Bobby, a sleek travel pack that promises to be anti-cut and anti-shock, which means that anything you put into this backpack will be there to stay.

Following a highly successful Kickstarter campaign in which the Bobby garnered the support of over 10,500 backers and raised nearly $780,000, this 21st-century backpack is now being shipped out to its early fans. And thus far, the reviews have been glowing. Not only does the Bobby purport to prevent theft, but it’s also a practical bag for daily use.

There’s an integrated USB charging port that will keep your devices juiced at all times, and the reflectors on the pack ensure that you’ll be seen no matter what time of day or night it may be. There’s also a transit-card pocket on the strap for easy access to your commuter card, and because it’s water repellent, you’ll be able to safely transport your laptop, tablet, and other electronic devices.

The Bobby promises even weight distribution, but better still, it’s super lightweight so you can easily take it on trips or anywhere else you may need to go. And the minimalist design (the zipper is actually hidden, which makes it nearly impossible for thieves to quickly unzip the bag and make away with its contents), makes the backpack as stylish as it is safe.

Sure, it’s a bit expensive for a backpack at $106, but given all its bells and whistles, it certainly feels like something that’s worth the slight splurge, especially if you do a lot of traveling. So if you have any concerns at all about taking your backpack on the go, the Bobby may just be able to assuage your fears.

CES 2023: HD Hyundai’s Avikus is an A.I. for autonomous boat and marine navigation
Demonstration of NeuBoat level 2 autonomous navigation system at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

This content was produced in partnership with HD Hyundai.
Autonomous vehicle navigation technology is certainly nothing new and has been in the works for the better part of a decade at this point. But one of the most common forms we see and hear about is the type used to control steering in road-based vehicles. That's not the only place where technology can make a huge difference. Autonomous driving systems can offer incredible benefits to boats and marine vehicles, too, which is precisely why HD Hyundai has unveiled its Avikus AI technology -- for marine and watercraft vehicles.

More recently, HD Hyundai participated in the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, to demo its NeuBoat level 2 autonomous navigation system for recreational boats. The name mashes together the words "neuron" and "boat" and is quite fitting since the Avikus' A.I. navigation tech is a core component of the solution, it will handle self-recognition, real-time decisions, and controls when on the water. Of course, there are a lot of things happening behind the scenes with HD Hyundai's autonomous navigation solution, which we'll dive into below -- HD Hyundai will also be introducing more about the tech at CES 2023.

There's a scene in Mission Impossible 3 that you might recall. In it, our hero Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) tackles the movie's villain, holds him at gunpoint, and forces him to read a bizarre series of sentences aloud.

"The pleasure of Busby's company is what I most enjoy," he reluctantly reads. "He put a tack on Miss Yancy's chair, and she called him a horrible boy. At the end of the month, he was flinging two kittens across the width of the room ..."
