Digital Lifestyle Outfitters (DLO), a developer of iPod accessories, earlier this week announced the availability of a new iPod dock designed to make use of one’s television for viewing and selecting content from what is stored in an iPod. The new DLO HomeDock Deluxe is priced at $149.99 and comes with an 18-button remote control for navigating the iPod’s music, video and photos.
The HomeDock Deluxe, said DLO, is designed to charge a dockable iPod while at the same time connecting it through an A/V cable to a home stereo and/or television. While connected to a television, an on-screen iPod control is made available which is navigated via the remote. Two modes exist for on-screen control – one which allows users to navigate and select songs via options such as playlists, artists, albums, songs and genres and another which allows users to play videos or display photo slideshows.
Other features of the HomeDock Deluxe include four on-screen color theme settings, three on-screen screen savers and included accessories such as the A/V cable with S-video connection, AC adapter, remote control and powered speaker adapter cable. The HomeDock Deluxe can also connect with a PC or Mac via an included USB 2.0 port.
“On-screen navigation of iPod’s music on your TV has been a dream of iPod owners for a long time and now DLO will be the first company to put that feature into customers’ hands,†said Jeff Grady, CEO of DLO, in a statement. “The Homedock Deluxe’s innovations expand the iPod’s reach for our customers. The Deluxe changes the way you experience your iPod.â€
