Say you are in Best Buy with your Windows Media Player 10 compliant digital audio player. You want to put some tunes on the player but don’t want the hassle of buying CDs and ripping them. One potential solution from a company called Mix & Burn might provide the solution.
Mix & Burn, according to a release they issued today, has a variety of kiosks they are testing in markets across America which would allow consumers to either purchase, download and play major label content to the MP3 player type mentioned above or burn the tunes directly to a CD.
Mix and Burn has contracts with the five major labels. A current list of Mix & Burn kiosks can be found here.
“Offering digital music at retail has a lot of potential for consumers,” said David Levin, VP New Media, SONY BMG Music Entertainment. “We need to make our content available at the moment and in the format individuals want to consume it. Mix & Burn’s upgraded kiosks present a perfect conduit to meet this goal.â€
“The ability to download major label content to portable music players from a kiosk has been eagerly anticipated by our national retail customers,” said Bob French, President of Mix & Burn.
