Sonos Announces New Bundle Deal

Sonos, a developer of wireless multi-room music systems, today announced a new bundled package to entice more users to try out their version of the wireless, digital home. The new ZP80 Bundle is priced at $999 and is available now.

The Sonos ZP80 Bundle, said Sonos, includes two ZonePlayer 80s and a Sonos Controller. The ZonePlayer80s are connected to any amplified audio device via auto-sensing line-in connectors which can digitally encode any in-line source and work to bring that device into a wireless, multi-room digital music system. Aspects of the wireless music network can be controlled via the color remote Sonos Controller.

The company, which is based in the U.S. and South Korea, has patented a new way to build drivers -- the core component at the heart of every speaker -- that drastically reduces the space needed to accommodate them.

Resonado calls the technology Flat Core Speaker (FCS), and as the name suggests, it can be used to create speakers that have a much smaller overall depth, which expands the number of places speakers can be installed. Erikc Perez, Resonado co-founder and chief marketing officer, says that FCS achieves these benefits without compromising sound performance.
