Soyo, a provider of computer and consumer electronics products, today introduced a new USB phone designed for active Skype users. The U201 VoIP USB Phone looks to be available now.
The U201, said Soyo, allows users to use the phone’s keypad and LCD to manage Skype software and make calls without needing the computer’s display. The phone features a headset jack, mute button and hands free speaker, all for use when talking with another Skype user over the VoIP network. It has a 16-bit sound card built in for better sound quality and the speakerphone is at 20KHz bandwidth with adjustable volume during calls.
Other features of the U201 include personalized ringtone, caller ID, SkypeOut balance display, call history and redial.
