These are the drones you’re looking for: official Star Wars flying fighters

Propel at Star Wars Celebration 2016
Now’s your chance to do your very own Kessel Run. Four new official Star Wars drones are slated for release this fall. The 74-Z speeder bike, T-65 X-Wing Starfighter, Millennium Falcon, and TIE Advanced X1 fighter launch with some cool features and the approval of Lucasfilms, so the devil should be in the details. And it is.

As per the official site, “Each Propel Star Wars battle Quad is extremely detailed, hand painted to model quality finish, certified, numbered and packed in a collectible display box.”

Though these drones rival meticulously built scale models, they were not designed to collect dust on a shelf. They are ready for battle. Laser battle. With up to 24 “pilots” going at it simultaneously.

The flying fighters can go from zero to 30 mph in three seconds, up to a top speed of “above 35 mph.” There are three speed setting to choose from, along with “Push button 360 aerial stunts.”

A “reverse propulsion system” is coupled with clear rotor blades that virtually disappear while the drones are in flight, adding to the experience and realism.

“You have the combination of something that’s really detailed and collectible, which really appeals to the true Star Wars fan, but it also performs,” Propel CEO Darren Matloff said, as reported by Wired. “That’s never happened before.”

Before you head on over to the official site to reserve one, Wired reports that they’re not available in North America just yet. The price is expected to be between $200 and $300. If you do reserve one, you just have to put in your information, but no payment details. Later on, you’ll be notified how to complete the purchase. In the meantime, you’ll have a numbered edition held aside for you, even if the product sells out.

You probably associate Amazfit smartwatches, and therefore Huami, the company that makes them, with cheap-and-cheerful alternatives to the Apple Watch or Google WearOS smartwatches. While this is accurate, the company has a desirable special edition about to launch in China that will have Star Wars fans seeking one out from a friendly importer.

Based on the recently announced Amazfit Stratos 3, which is also known as the Smart Sports Watch 3, the Star Wars edition adds some sci-fi design cool to the otherwise heavily fitness-orientated wearable. Interestingly, it even adapts the Star Wars branding to fit in with the sports theme, with some unusual motivational messages on the strap.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker | Film Clip

Everyone's talking about The Mandalorian these days, so it's easy to forget that a new Star Wars movie will be in theaters in just under a month. Disney has provided a nice reminder of that fact, though, in the form of a new clip from Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker.

The Mandalorian, which debuts on Disney+ on November 12, 2019, is a new frontier for Star Wars. Not only is it the first live-action Star Wars series, but it's set in the 30 year gap between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, a time frame that Disney's spin-offs have barely explored.

Thanks to the destruction of the second Death Star, the death of Emperor Palpatine (assuming he's really dead, that is), and the triumph of the Rebel Alliance, the galaxy is a very different place during The Mandalorian than what you've seen on-screen before. Here's everything you need to know about the state of the Star Wars Universe before diving into The Mandalorian.
Where and when does The Mandalorian take place?
The Mandalorian is set five years after Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi, which marked the beginning of the end for the Galactic Empire.
