Microsoft begins testing Dolby Vision on Xbox Series X/S

The Xbox Series X/S will be the first consoles to support Dolby Vision gaming. The program will roll out to Xbox Insiders starting this week.

Dolby Vision is meant to give games a significant graphical boost with "full-spectrum visuals." It offers games upgrades like brighter highlights, sharper contrast, and more vibrancy, as well as more visibility in both light and dark situations. According to Dolby, it's an automatic process. Players do not have to adjust brightness sliders to tweak their screen. Instead, the best picture will always display by default.

Xbox Series X update adds long-requested quick resume update

Microsoft is rolling out a new update for Alpha Skip-Ahead Xbox Insider members that will allow users to see all active Quick Resume saves on the Xbox Series X/S. This feature makes it easier to navigate through all suspended games for quick and easy access.

Quick Resume is a feature introduced with Xbox Series X/S that allows players to suspend and save the current state of a game. This means users can quickly jump between titles, picking up right from the most recent save with ease.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 coming to Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 is coming to three new platforms this year. A next-gen version of the game will land on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 in March, while a Switch version is coming later this year.

The game is a remake of the first two games in the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series. When it originally launched on last-gen consoles last September, Activision didn't reveal any plans to bring the game to new consoles or give it a next-gen upgrade, making today's announcement a welcome surprise.
