AirPods Pro, Powerbeats Pro in the discount bin with up to $50 off

On the hunt for some true wireless earbuds? You’re in luck — the AirPods (2nd Gen), AirPods Pro, and Powerbeats Pro are all on sale right now with as much as $50, which sees them on sale starting at only $136 for the former. Deals like these don’t come about often, though, so you’ll need to act fast or risk losing out.

AirPods (2nd Gen)

— from $136

Ever since their release in 2016, the Apple AirPods have become a worldwide phenomenon among casual and loyal users alike — and it isn’t hard to see why. With up to five hours of non-stop listening and the button-less philosophy Apple is known for, the AirPods provide the convenience and sound quality users would expect from such a tech titan.

In less than a minute out of the box, you can get the AirPods up and running with just a single press of a button. All you have to do is pair them with your device through Bluetooth, plug them into your ears, and bam, you’re done. They automatically start playing when they’re in your ears and pause when they’re not, so you don’t lose charge or miss out on your audio. As with any mobile Apple device, you have full control over what your AirPods do with the help of Siri. Whether it’s adjusting the volume or making calls, you can do it all without raising a finger — or your voice.

As we stated earlier, the AirPods can last for up to five hours of non-stop usage. If you ever need to recharge, the included case can hold multiple full charges, so for as little as 15 minutes of downtime in between uses, you can listen to your music non-stop for over 24 hours. Unfortunately, if you’ve had problems with the EarPods fitting in your ears or are not satisfied with the sound quality, then you might need to opt for another option as the AirPods are essentially the same thing but with the added bonus of wireless convenience. If those aren’t problems, though, then you shouldn’t have anything to worry about.

If there’s anything you should take note of, it’s that if you lose the case or even a single AirPod, then you’ll have to purchase a replacement. However, even if you lose one AirPod, you can still use the other one as they can work independently of one another. If you’re interested, you can check out the AirPods on Verizon where both the wired and wireless charging case options are on sale.

For the headphone-user with a more active lifestyle, then the Powerbeats Pro are definitely a top-tier option for the audiophile on the go. Some of us here at Digital Trends know just how much of a hassle wired headphones can be when at the gym. Thankfully, though the AirPods aren’t exactly sweat or gym-friendly, the Powerbeats Pro pick up where they fall flat.

With over nine hours of battery life, you can keep listening to your tunes for much of each day before recharging. Sweat isn’t a problem either as these headphones are designed to be completely sweatproof and waterproof. The charging case even comes ready with additional charges, so you won’t be forced to listen to your gym’s Top 50 radio for longer than five minutes at a time. With Fast Fuel, five minutes is all it will take to charge your Powerbeats for another 1.5 hours with minimal downtime.

These headphones have also been ergonomically designed with earhooks and in-ear silicone earbuds for comfort even during those arduous workout sessions and intense marathons that would have any regular wired headphones pop or slide right out of your ears. They’re also noise-canceling, so you can drown out any outside noise and focus on you and your music.

As the Powerbeats Pro use the same H1 headphone chip as the AirPods, they’re also just as easy to use and connect to on your mobile device through Bluetooth. Designed for powerful beats and deep bass, the Powerbeats Pro are no stranger to high caliber sound quality. This way, you can enjoy your workout with your own background music without being distracted by any outside noise. Both earbuds can work independently, so you can enjoy the same quality even with a single earbud. On the rare occasion that you lose one, they’re thankfully much easier to spot on the ground than the AirPods due to the increased size.

Whether you’re a gym rat or just someone far too clumsy for their own good, then the Powerbeats Pro are definitely going to be a great buy. If you’re interested, you can check them out on Best Buy where they’re currently on sale for $50 off, letting you nab them for $200.

AirPods Pro

— $225, was $250

For those who find the classic AirPods lacking, the AirPods Pro offer the best of both worlds, and more. While the AirPods have a uniform earbud, the AirPods Pro take after the Powerbeats Pro and have their own soft in-ear silicone earbuds. You can switch them around with the three provided eartips to perfectly fit your ears for maximum comfort and so that they’re tight enough to avoid falling out as you go about your daily business.

In terms of noise cancellation and raw sound quality, the AirPods Pro have the previous two options beat. In fact, we’ve found that not only do the AirPods Pro manage to block out any and all noise, they even manage to amplify what you want to hear with their innovative transparency mode, so you never miss a beat or have outside noise affect your calls. The Active Noise Cancellation technology also ensures that you’re getting unwanted noise blocked out completely every second you’ve got the AirPods in your ears. Adaptive EQ adjusts the music output based on your ears so that you’re getting personalized music tailored for you. This way, you get to enjoy your music the best way possible — literally.

If you’ll be going straight to the gym after work, then you’ll also be glad to know that the AirPods Pro are also designed to be sweat-resistant, so you can work in the sunlight and workout in the moonlight without worrying about water damage. The battery life and charging time aren’t as robust as the Powerbeats Pro, being capable of only 4.5 hours per charge, but if you’re willing to live with some occasional downtime, then it’s a small price to pay.

For your convenience, you also have access to Siri for voice-automated control over both your music and calls. It’s difficult to argue with the style and substance of the AirPods Pro, and with the AirPods 3’s release date just around the corner, there’s no better time than now to hop on the bandwagon. You can check out the AirPods Pro on Verizon where they’re currently discounted from their retail price of $250 to just $225.
