Optoma’s loaded UHL55 4K Ultra HD projector is half off for Cyber Monday

Sometimes the best way to upgrade your TV room is to pass right on by the TV aisle. For those seeking a massive screen at a not-so-massive price, a projector is by far the best way to go. And if you’re looking to get into the wide world of projectors,

Amazon’s 50% price slash on Optoma’s UHL55 4K HDR

is your ticket to ride. Seriously, at just $750 for Cyber Monday, this is a crazy deal.

As a “smart” projector, the UHL55 is much more than just a lamp in a box. This system offers voice control in the form of Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, allowing you to power it on and off, adjust volume and even change input sources through a compatible smart speaker without raising a finger.

Dual HDMI 2.0 inputs let you connect multiple devices directly, while onboard app support including Netflix, YouTube, and Firefox (among many others) allows you to watch videos directly from the projector itself. Other inputs include USB for serving up onboard media and VGA to connect the UHL55 to your computer, while onboard speakers allow you to stream Bluetooth directly. The speakers are designed to offer omnidirectional sound to easily fill up your room.

At 1,500 lumens, the UHL55 doesn’t offer the ultrabright performance of Optoma’s UHD55 (also on sale today), and the system also doesn’t have the same rich black levels as its sibling, but it does offer HDR performance via HDR10 for impressive contrast and rich colors.

What’s more, this projector is built to travel, with a relatively portable design and inclusions like a backpack, lens cover, and removable handle to take it with you for an impromptu movie night. Autofocus allows for no-hassle setup, while adjusting manually is done with the aid of a Bluetooth remote.

For those worried about longevity, the UHL55 projector is rated to last up to 15,000 hours, which should make for as much of a decade of moderate use before the lamp needs replacement.

Frankly, there’s only one way to get a massive screen at a price like this. For well under $1,000, you’ll be enjoying a screen that stretches beyond 100 inches in a matter of minutes. That’s what we call a life-size picture. If you’ve been wondering about dipping your toes into the projector world, Optoma’s UHL55 is a fantastic way to do it — especially at half price.

LG debuts two new CineBeam 4K HDR projectors
LG CineBeam HU715Q and HU710P 4K HDR projectors.

LG has unveiled its two most advanced projectors to date. The LG CineBeam HU715Q and HU710P both feature 4K resolution and HDR capabilities with 2,000,000:1 contrast ratios. Both models will be available in the first quarter of 2022, and LG released pricing on February 28.

The HU710P will retail at $2,500. It uses a hybrid laser-LED light source, which LG says doesn't require a color wheel, and can generate up to 2,000 lumens of brightness. The HU715Q, which is a larger, ultra short throw model, uses just laser light and produces up to 2,500 lumens. Both projectors will work in most indoor settings, but LG says they can also be enjoyed outside, after sunset.
