Go full-frame for $1,900 off. This Nikon D750 kit is a steal on Black Friday

Full-frame cameras are revered for their image quality, but their large sensors typically come at a high price. This Black Friday, you can grab the popular Nikon D750 at a steep discount — it’s a great way to make the jump to a full-frame camera. Right now, you can get the D750 and 24-120mm f/4 lens for just $1,497, a savings of $1,900. The body alone can be picked up for just under $1,000, a discount of $700. These prices are only good through Cyber Monday and can be found at most retailers.

Released in 2014, the D750’s specs don’t all stack up to those of a modern camera, but it was ahead of time and remains a capable machine today. It can shoot bursts at 6.5 frames per second, uses a 51-point viewfinder autofocus system, and its 24-megapixel sensor still rivals entry-level full-frame cameras today.

As a DSLR, the D750 is bulkier than the likes of the Sony A7 II, a full-frame mirrorless model that’s also on one of the best Black Friday camera deals. But it also offers slightly faster performance, vastly superior battery life, and an optical viewfinder which many photographers still find preferable to the electronic viewfinders of mirrorless cameras. The D750 also sports a tilting screen, a fairly new innovation for full-frame DSLRs at the time.

While the body-only Black Friday price for the D750 is certainly attractive, we recommend springing for the kit unless you already own a collection of Nikon F-mount lenses. The 24-120mm f/4 isn’t your standard kit zoom. It offers significantly more range and a constant aperture, meaning it won’t get darker as you zoom. The lens is also optically stabilized to help reduce blur caused by camera shake, a great feature to have as the D750 — like all Nikon DSLRs — does not have internal sensor-shift stabilization.

We’ve been expecting a replacement for the D750 from Nikon for some time, but the company has turned its attention toward lighter mirrorless cameras. The Nikon Z 6 is built around a similar full-frame sensor, also with 24MP, but features 4K video, faster continuous shooting speed, and five-axis sensor-shift stabilization. The Z 6 is selling for about $1,700 on Black Friday, however, and that’s for just the camera body without a lens. The D750 and 24-120mm lens kit is simply an unbeatable deal right now.
