Amazon drops killer deals on these Samsung Galaxy A10 and A70 smartphones

Samsung has a lot of phones to offer, and we do mean a lot. From premium ones like those in the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series to those that cater to the low- and midrange market like the Galaxy M and A-series, the company has something for everybody. On top of the incredible range, the Korean tech giant’s offerings are uniformly good, boasting excellent hardware, state-of-the-art specs, superb battery life, and more. If you don’t have the money to burn for the mind-blowing Samsung Galaxy Fold or the lesser-priced but still pretty expensive Galaxy Note 10+, you might want to take a look at the Samsung Galaxy A10 and A70. Both are available on Amazon at amazing discounted prices as part of Cyber Week 2019.

Samsung Galaxy A10

— $137, was $180

The Samsung Galaxy A10 may be the most watered down when it comes to specs in Samsung’s A-series, but it still boasts enough workable features and a surprisingly fast performance that makes it a recommendable. There’s really nothing to write home about this phone’s build quality. It is constructed entirely of plastic that has a glossy finish, with a unibody design that extends to the phone’s sides.

On the back of this phone, you’ll see a single 13-megapixel camera with an LED flash underneath it. This phone can support two SIM cards, so you have the option to have two mobile carriers at the same time. Although it has an internal memory of 32GB, you can choose to expand the phone’s storage to up to 1TB as it has a dedicated microSD slot.

This phone has a V-shaped notch on the top with a 5-megapixel selfie camera, a design it shares with a lot of recent phones starting with the iPhone X. It has a 6.2-inch IPS display with a 720 x 1,520 pixels resolution. Despite being a lower-tier phone, the screen can get pretty bright and possess what Samsung calls “adaptive display.” This means it can automatically adjust its brightness depending on ambient light, making it power-efficient.

The Samsung Galaxy A10 runs on Android Pie with Samsung’s proprietary software One UI version 1.1., one of the finest mobile OS that doesn’t come with a lot of bloatware. Working with an Exynos 7884 chipset and 2GB of RAM, the Galaxy A10 runs exceptionally fast for an entry-level phone.

The camera works fine, if a little underwhelming. Unlike the rest of the A-series with multiple rear cameras, including a depth-sensing lens, this phone does take good photos but cannot take shots with a blurry background effect. The colors are nicely balanced, and the details look sharp and accurate.

The Samsung Galaxy A10 is a good entry-level phone with an awesome display and an excellent performance that comes with a reasonable price tag. Get it for just $140 instead of its usual price of $180 on Amazon.

Samsung Galaxy A70

— $352, was $450

Samsung has been hitting it out of the ballpark with the Galaxy A Series, and this phone is no exception. Appearance-wise, the A70 looks almost exactly like the rest of its siblings, with variations in material, display, and rear cameras. This phone’s back panel is made of plastic that gives off a cool iridescent sheen. While it looks good, it’s definitely a fingerprint magnet and not scratch-proof, so better purchase a phone case to protect it. The power button and volume rocker can be seen on the right side, while the bottom edge has the USB-C port and (thankfully) a headphone jack.

The A70 has an in-display fingerprint sensor that’s frankly unresponsive. It usually won’t work during your first attempt. You’re better off using facial recognition to unlock it instead. Fortunately, the A70’s triple rear camera system is a delight. There’s a 32-megapixel f/1.7 main sensor that takes sharp and crisp high-resolution photographs, an 8-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide camera lens for breathtaking landscape shots, and a 5-megapixel f/2.2 depth-sensing lens for blurred background portraits.

Samsung’s “Infinity-U” display debuts with this phone, and is named after the U-shaped notch up top that houses the front camera. It isn’t as annoyingly big as on other phones, but it still might irritate avid video watchers. The 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display is stunning though. Colors are vibrant, the blacks are inky-deep, and everything looks incredibly detailed. It isn’t as completely bezel-less as the Galaxy S10, but you won’t likely complain considering the phone’s much lower cost.

Powered by the Snapdragon 675, the Galaxy A70 is plenty snappy and quite adept at multitasking. This octa-core processor works with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. Opening apps is fast, and you can even use this phone for playing graphically demanding games such as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds at 30-plus fps with hardly any glitch. Lastly, its 4,500mAh battery supports 25W fast charging and can easily get you through a full day. With light usage, you can even stretch the battery life to two days.

The Samsung Galaxy A70 has an impressive triple camera array, a bold and beautiful display, and an epic battery life. Despite the unresponsive fingerprint scanner, this is a fantastic phone that offers a premium experience at a very reasonable price.

You can get a factory-unlocked unit of the Galaxy A70 for $98 off on Amazon. Instead of $450, upgrade to this stylish and sleek smartphone for just $352. You can get an additional $60 off instantly upon being approved for the Amazon Rewards Visa card, which brings the price down to $292.
