Discounts on Apple products are few and far between, which is why it’s a good idea to look at Prime Day deals if you’re in the market for a new MacBook. Right now at Amazon, the new

Apple 16-inch MacBook Pro

(16GB RAM, 512GB Storage) is reduced from $2,399 to $2,099 with free one-day shipping. That’s a $300 savings. We saw a similar deal in July, but this sale matches the lowest price we’ve seen since the 16-inch MacBook Pro was released in November 2019. Only refurbished models have ever been discounted deeper than $300. You can also save $400 on the 1TB model, which comes with the Intel Core i9 processor.

In addition to providing 16GB of RAM, the 512GB MacBook Pro has a ninth-generation six-core Intel Core i7 processor, a gorgeous 16-inch retina display with True Tone technology, and an AMD Radeon 5300M graphics card with 6DDR6 memory, which will support almost any game on the market. Audiophiles will delight in the MacBook Pro’s six-speaker system with force-canceling woofers and studio-quality mics as well. And travelers or folks on-the-go can count on a whopping 11 hours of battery life from this laptop.

These models are among the most powerful laptops Apple has ever made. The fast processing speeds and top-of-the-line graphics mean you’ll be able to edit sound and video with ease. And as with most other Apple products, customers rave about the 16-inch MacBook Pro. It received an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars from more than 1,800 Amazon customers. But it’s not exactly cheap, and older models may be sufficient for many users. Someone who mainly uses a laptop for word processing and web surfing, for example, won’t need such robust features. Check our other MacBook deals, especially these limited-time Prime Day MacBook deals, before making a final decision on your next laptop.

If you’re not ready to drop $2,099 at once, you can secure an attractive financing option by applying for an Amazon Store Card. You’ll be able to make interest-free, equal monthly payments for 12 months. That means you’ll still save $300 off the retail price of $2,399. While it’s possible a similar deal will pop up again, it’ll likely be months before we see another discount on this laptop. If you need a new computer now, we suggest acting quickly. There’s no telling how quickly these will sell or how long this deal will last.

Apple's known for locking down its secrets under lock and key. But not these past few weeks.

The company hasn’t even announced the M4 MacBook Pro, yet we’ve apparently learned pretty much everything there is to know about the upcoming laptop thanks to a series of purported high-profile leaks and unboxing videos that have shown off the device from every angle. For a firm as security conscious as Apple, having the MacBook Pro spoiled in this way is close to catastrophic.

These M4 MacBook Pro leaks are getting insane, and I don’t know what to believe anymore
An open MacBook Pro on a table.

Apple has yet to announce an October Mac event, but leaks for the M4 MacBook Pro continue to circulate. A new tweet from Apple leaker ShrimpApplePro and a new Russian unboxing video have been spotted by Tom's Hardware, giving this possibly true and definitely unprecedented Apple leak more steam. The tweet claims a seller on a private Facebook group has 200 units of the M4 MacBook Pro for sale, adding: "This is probably the biggest warehouse leakage I've ever seen."

The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Max chip seen from behind.

Leaks of the yet-to-be-announced M4 MacBook Pro have been getting weirder and weirder lately. First, it was up for sale on Facebook. And now, as spotted by MacRumors, there seems to be an entire unboxing video of it on YouTube.

Weirder yet, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman retweeted the Russian YouTuber Wylsacom's video with the comment: "Unconfirmed but looks fairly legitimate." This isn't some unknown YouTube channel, either. He currently sits at 11.3 million subscribers.
