Amazon slashes up to $300 off these Vizio M-Series Quantum 4K TVs

Nowadays, pretty much all TVs available are 4K. They’ve completely replaced good old lower-resolution 1080p TVs. Their prices differ with their features, but they all offer the same number of pixels — 8,294,440 to be exact.

What makes the difference is their picture quality. How bright can the TV get? Is the contrast excellent, are the colors accurate? What about the HDR performance? These are the questions that you should be asking when deciding which 4K TV is right for you. One of the most popular 4K TV display technology right now is quantum dot LED — QLED for short. This technology was developed by Samsung and promises a more colorful, brighter, and power-efficient TV experience courtesy of thousands of minuscule, self-illuminating quantum dots.

Recently, Vizio licensed this innovation and is offering its own line of QLED TVs via the M and P Series Quantum. Right now, 65-inch units of the Vizio M and P are available on Amazon at incredible discounted prices.

65-inch Vizio M-series Quantum 4K TV

— $748

The more affordable of the two is Vizio’s M-Series Quantum TV. It normally costs $1,000, but Black Friday seemingly came early and Amazon sliced a huge $252 off the price. Get this solid midrange 4K TV for $748.

The M-Series’ quantum dots work together to deliver a picture with boosted brightness and a full-array local dimming (FALD) for extreme contrasts-. The blacks are inky black and the brights are beautifully bright. It supports both HDR10 and Dolby Vision, so it’s capable of a wider spectrum of colors and details. Overall, its picture quality is simply sensational for something that costs less than $1,000.

Surprisingly, this TV’s built-in speakers deliver audio that’s quite decent despite being so slim. The bass is punchy but won’t make furniture vibrate, the dialogue is extremely audible, and the volume can easily fill a small to medium-sized room.

Unfortunately, Vizio’s remote control remains frustratingly unevolved, with far too many buttons. It does its job well, but it’s not as wonderfully simple as a Roku or Samsung remote. The same can be said for its smart TV system. It runs with SmartCast 3.0 and is comparatively faster than older Vizio TVs but still slower compared to Roku.  The interface does look well-organized and polished, and it has built-in Chromecast, but you cannot add new apps on it.

65-inch Vizio P-series Quantum 4K TV

– $1,090

The P-Series Quantum is Vizio’s premium 4K TV offering and is even more blindingly bright and stunning than the M-Series Quantum. And just like the M-Series, this TV is also enjoying an enormous price cut on Amazon. Instead of its usual hefty price of $1,400, you can get it for $1,090 — that’s a whopping $309 off. And if you order via the Amazon Rewards Visa Card and get approval, you’re entitled an additional $50 off instantly, bringing the price even lower $1,040.

This TV has a searing light output, which measures well over 1,100 nits, which is double the brightness of the standard Vizio M (600 nits). Trust us when we say that if you put these TVs next to each other, the P Series’ luminosity is noticeably superior. This is made possible by a powerful backlight system. Because of the intense brightness, colors pop even more. And thanks to 192 zones of local dimming, this TV keeps dark areas black and not gray despite being shockingly bright. Simply put, if you’re watching a scene of the moon against the night sky, the moon will appear as intensely bright as how you’ll see it in person while the surrounding darkness is pitch black.

The Vizio P supports multiple HDR formats such as Dolby Vision HDR, HDR10, and HLG, which offer a broader color spectrum so you can enjoy Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube videos in their optimum picture setting. This TV is also perfect for watching movies and sports games with fast-paced action as it has powerful image processing at a 240Hz refresh rate.

With the recent software update, all 4K TVs from Vizio are now Apple AirPlay 2.0 capable, meaning you can use your Apple devices to stream shows from iTunes and Apple TV. It has Chromecast built-in, so you can stream thousands of apps and/or use your smartphone to play content and cast it straight on the big screen. The P-Series also supports Siri and Google Assistant, enabling you to control the TV set using only your voice.

The Vizio M and P Series Quantum both offer the ultimate TV viewing experience, with the latter having a brighter and more colorful display that truly stuns. Unfortunately, they both run with the sluggish SmartCast 3.0 interface and have the same primitive remote. But seriously you can overlook these things as they really deliver where it matters most. Make either the Vizio M or the P Series Quantum the main attraction of your living space and save as much as $310.

Best 4K monitor deals: Get a 27-inch 4K monitor for $270 and more
Dual monitors set up on a desk.

So, you got yourself a shiny new desktop or laptop. Congratulations. Now it's time to start thinking about some of the accessories you'll need, and we're not just talking about a good keyboard and mouse combo. For instance, you might consider the best 4K monitor deals because it's super helpful to have an extra monitor even if you're not using the computer for work or productivity tasks. The extra monitor allows you to keep additional content onscreen, like Discord, a browser window open to YouTube or your favorite streaming platform, or some other activity. You can continue working, gaming, or browsing on the main display, while the rest is still visible on the secondary display. To do this, you'll want to check out some of the best monitor deals out there.
Today's best 4K monitor deals
There's a lot to choose from, but if you want to utmost quality and best visual experience you can opt for a 4K ultra-HD monitor. And yes, if you must know, there are 5k monitors available, too. Like a 4K TV, they're designed to display ultra-high-resolution content at a solid framerate, usually 60 frames per second or above -- 120Hz is the sweet spot. To help out a little, and help you sift through the vast selection, we've rounded up the best 4K monitor deals, all in one place.

Are 4K monitors worth it?
You might be wondering is 4K monitors are really worth it? After all, computer media and experiences are mostly different than anything you'll encounter on your average TV. But here's the thing, computers have access to a much larger array of resolutions, including high and ultra-high resolutions. Moreover, computers benefit from much smoother refresh rates, sometimes in excess of 120Hz -- 120 frames per second. That means you get a much smoother picture, a much better experience -- especially while gaming -- and frankly, there's nothing quite like it. Plus, the higher the supported resolution the higher you can crank the quality of your desktop and laptop visuals, provided they support higher resolutions.
What is the best size for a 4K monitor?
It really depends on what you're using the monitor for and what activities you plan to partake in. For example, if you're gaming or watching movies, the larger the display the better. If you're just going to be doing busywork and need enough screen real estate for a couple of browser windows then you can get by with a smaller monitor. For gamers, we always recommend looking at ultra-wide and curved displays because they're more immersive. In regards to size, the sweet spot is really anything about 27-inches or above. Ideally, you want 32-inches or so, that way you can use a single monitor with split windows to have multiple things going on at a time. Things get even better if you decide to expand with an extra monitor or two.
