Walmart Prime Day Deals: October Rollbacks Sale is here

Walmart Prime Day graphic with a screen from Walmart.com.

You might find this shocking, but Walmart has responded to Amazon’s surprise sale with its own surprise sale. The ‘Rollbacks and More Sale’ runs from October 10 to 13 and overlaps with the Prime Early Access Sale by a significant margin. If you aren’t familiar with it, it’s essentially just a Prime Day 2.0 that Amazon calls an early access sale. In fact, there are already several great sales on everything from air fryers to TVs, with some even being better than their Prime Day alternative. So, let’s look at the deals available during what is quickly becoming the best few days of sales this year.

Farberware 1.9-quart Air Fryer — $25, was $40

If you’ve been browsing potential Prime Day Fryer deals, this deal from Farberware is an excellent alternative if you need something compact with a few nice features. For example, while it’s on the smaller end with a 1.9-quart space, it can still bake, grill, and even toast things according to your needs, and assuming slightly smaller portions, it can certainly work for two people. It has a wide temperature range between 175 degrees Fahrenheit and 400 degrees Fahrenheit, and the baking tray is non-stick and dishwasher safe, so it’s not a whole production every time you want to bake something!

HP 11.6-inch Chromebook — $98, was $199

With everything being online these days, including things like school, small and budget-oriented laptops like the HP Chromebook are incredibly helpful to those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to get online. The whole thing is built around portability; given its small size and metal-reinforced corners, it can handle the day-to-day much easier, and while the 200-nit peak brightness isn’t exceptional, it’s more than enough for use indoors and in very shaded areas. The CPU is an AMD A4-9120C, which is bare bones, but that’s ok given ChromeOS is pretty lightweight. While we prefer a minimum of 8GB of RAM, the 4GB you get should also be enough for the system to run smoothly, making this a great alternative to Prime Day laptop deals if you haven’t found anything you like on Amazon.

SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab A7 Lite — $109, was $159

While there are a lot of great Prime Day tablet deals going on right now, Walmart has this great deal on the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 lite, a great entry-level tablet on a budget. While the name suggests otherwise, it has a nice 1340 x 800 resolution and a 8.7-inch screen, which is excellent if you aren’t a fan of bigger 10-inch tablets and value better portability. It comes with 3GB of RAM, which is more than we’d expect at this price point, and should be enough for most daily tasks, as should the 32GB of internal storage, which you can upgrade with a MicroSD card up to 1TB. You’ll also be happy to note it has a Type-C USB cable, which is probably the nicest feature for a budget tablet.

Gateway 15.6-inch Ultra Slim Notebook — $229, was $445

If you liked the Chromebook from earlier but want better Prime Day deals, this Gateway Notebook is the way to go, especially since it’s nearly 50% off. With a 15.6-inch FHD screen, you get a lot of real estate to work with. Plus, the bigger screen also means a bigger keyboard, making it great for those who write a lot. It may not seem like it, but it’s also relatively portable given its 0.77-inch thickness, and it’s also similarly impressive that they managed to pack in things like 128GB SSD and 4GB of RAM, which is a bit on the lower side. You also get the 11th gen Intel i3-1115G4, an entry-level CPU that should do fine for most productivity and general-use tasks, especially if you’re big on streaming and the cloud.

Hisense 58-inch Class R6 Series — $298, was $338

The 65-inch Hisense R6 Series 4K TV with the Roku TV interface on the screen.

We don’t often come up against TVs specifically sized at 58 inches, but this TCL 65-inch Class 5-Series is worth grabbing if you’re looking for great deals on a budget TV. What’s most impressive at this price point is the inclusion of full-array LED backlighting, which means smaller brightness zones that significantly improve the contrast ratio. Combined with the HDR10 this TV comes with, it means you’re getting top-notch HDR for budget prices. And while the TV only comes at a base 60Hz refresh rate, it does have Motion Rate 120, which tries to recreate the feel of a faster framerate. While that’s not ideal for gamers, it’s still not too bad, and the addition of decreased input lag helps it. While there’s sadly no mic on the remote, you can still control the TV with any Google Assistant or Alexa device, so it’s not too bad.

TCL 65-inch Class 5-Series — $548, was $648

If you have a bit of a budget to spend and want one of the better Prime Day TV deals, this QLED TV from TCL is surprisingly robust in terms of specs and features. For example, not only does it have 4k, but it has an internal 4k upscaling engine so that you can still watch your favorite shows at a higher resolution. It also comes with many HDR certifications, including HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG, the last of which is the HDR broadcasters’ use, so if you’re into sports, you can watch them in HDR. Sadly, it still only has a 60hz refresh rate, but that’s not necessarily a dealbreaker at this price point, especially if you don’t often watch or play fast-paced content such as action films and games.
