A visual look at the new Call of Duty: Ghosts

Call of Duty is a franchise that has grown so big it transcends the gaming medium. Even if you have never played a video game in your life, the odds are good that you are at least familiar with the name Call of Duty. You don’t have to have watched Star Wars to understand the references to jedi.

CoD is nowhere near the levels of cultural saturation that Star Wars has reached, but with the annual games making over a billion dollars each regularly, it’s getting there. This year is especially important as well, as it marks the jump to the next-generation of consoles.

The series began on PC and made its home there with only limited success in the console market through ports of the original titles. That all changed with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which exploded on the Xbox 360 and PS3. Since then, the franchise has been dedicated to putting out console hits.

With the next generation of consoles due out later this year and Call of Duty being the biggest franchise in the world, it stands to reason that Call of Duty: Ghosts will be the biggest game on the next-gen. Here is a look at what to expect from a visual standpoint.

Is Modern Warfare 2 cross-platform?
Characters running on highway in Modern Warfare II.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is one of the biggest first-person shooters right now. Since multiplayer is such a major component of Modern Warfare II, you might be wondering if the game features cross-platform play, which platforms the game supports, and how cross-progression works.

In this guide, we'll explain everything to know about cross-platform play in Modern Warfare II.
Does Modern Warfare II have crossplay?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II does support crossplay on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC (via Steam and Battle.net). This means regardless of your platform, you'll be able to play with users on other systems or devices. This works thanks to current Call of Duty games utilizing Activision IDs to track accounts rather than being tied to a particular platform. This does mean you must make an Activision account to play the game.

Vondel is the best Call of Duty: Warzone map ever and it’s not even close
Characters on the Vondel map in Warzone.

Since Call of Duty: Warzone's release in 2020, Activision has released a number of battle royale maps -- some of which have captivated a large audience. Think Verdansk, Rebirth Island, and Fortune's Keep. Though, with the new version of Warzone (formerly referred to as Warzone 2.0), the maps haven't garnered the same positive buzz ... until now.

Alongside the release of Season 4, Activision released the new Vondel map, which takes place in an urban Netherlands city, full of various buildings, a canal, and even a public transit system (via ground or water). Vondel isn't just great, it's the best Warzone map ever made.
What is Vondel?
