A newly announced pre-order bonus for the Creative Assembly’s Alien: Isolation brings Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt, Veronica Cartwright, Harry Dean Stanton, Veronica Cartwright, Yaphet Kotto, and Ian Holm (likeness only) — key castmembers from Ridley Scott’s 1979 film Alien — back together to reprise their roles for a pair of downloadable missions.
All pre-orders get an automatic upgrade to the Nostromo Edition of the game, which comes with the bonus mission “Crew Expendable.” The second pre-order mission, “Last Survivor,” is a GaemStop pre-order exclusive. Both missions give players the chance to step into the shoes of the characters and relive moments from the original movie.
Crew Expendable (movie spoiler alert) picks up shortly after Brett’s death, with players selecting one of three characters: Ellen Ripley (Weaver), Dallas (Skerritt), or Parker (Kotto). Whoever you choose, the goal is to get from the Nostromo’s habitation deck to engineering, while working with Lambert (Cartwright) and Ash (Holm’s character) to get the Xenomorph into an airlock.
Last Survivor follows Ripley during the film’s final escape, tasking players with guiding her from the Narcissus lifeboat to the Nostromo’s self-destruct console, then getting her back to the lifeboat. (end spoilers)
“Working with the original cast has been an incredible experience,” Isolation creative lead Alistair Hope said in the news announcement. “It was important to us to have the key original cast members reprise their roles in order to perfectly capture the atmosphere of the movie. For some of the original cast, this is their first appearance in an Alien video game. Seeing them reprise those roles after 35 years was an unforgettable experience.”
Alien: Isolation comes to PC (Windows) and PlayStation/Xbox consoles on October 7.
