Released by Remedy Entertainment, Control is a game that you won’t want to miss if you are interested in supernatural shooters shrouded in a government conspiracy. Players take control of Jesse Faden, a woman who arrives at the Oldest House, a building under control by the Federal Bureau of Control, seeking her kidnapped brother. Players explore a government building like no other, finding Objects of Power, everyday objects that grant Jesse paranormal powers. Metro Exodus is the third installment in the Metro game trilogy, released by Deep Silver and developed by 4A Games. Following the events of Metro 2044 and Metro: Last Light, Metro Exodus is a first-personal survival horror shooter with stealth elements. Players step into a post-apocalyptical Russian Federal where they must fish against mutated creatures that roam the land. Throughout the game, gamers can craft a collection of hand-made weaponry to take down enemies. While playing the first two games in the franchise is recommended, jumping directly into Metro Exodus is still a thrilling experience.

Resident Evil 7

When you step into the world of Resident Evil, you know nothing good is to come of it. This 2017 survival horror game from Capcom puts you in control of Ethan Winters, a man searching for his lost wife. You must move through an old plantation that an infected family inhabits while fighting enemies and solving puzzles. Resident Evil 7 is a welcomed game in the franchise as it abandons the more action-heavy focus of previous games, placing a stronger focus on horror and exploration. A Plague Tale: Innocence

An excellent game that was seemingly missed by many, A Plague Tale: Innocence was released in May 2019 by Focus Home Interactive. Players take control of Amicia de Rune, a young girl of noble descent in Aquitaine. The game is set during the Hundred Years War, and players navigate this action-adventure horror gaming using stealth to survive. If you enjoy running directly into action, this likely isn’t the game for you, but if you enjoy survival puzzles and thinking on your feet, you may want to join Amicia as she tries to survive a harsh world.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (Ubisoft+)

The first game in our list part of the Ubisoft+ add-on to Luna, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, is the 12th installment in the Assassin’s Creed series by Ubisoft. Set in 873 AD, players take control of Eivor, a Viking raider during Britain’s Viking invasion. In this excellent open-world adventure game, players find themselves trapped in a conflict between the Brotherhood of Assassins and the Templar Order. Released in 2020, Assassins Creed Valhalla is a fresh game that should be checked off any player’s must-play list.

Immortals Fenyx Rising (Ubisoft+)

Released in 2020, Immortal Fenyx Rising is an action-adventure game produced by Ubisoft that puts players in control of a young Greek member of the Delian League. After barely surviving a shipwreck, the soldier washes up upon the shores of the Golden Isle. After quickly discovering that the other shipmates have turned to stone, gamers jump into a world inhabited by Greek gods of yesteryear. In this exciting open-world adventure, players can fully customize the protagonist’s appearance, playing the game as they wish. If Greek mythology is up your alley, you’ll want to check out this stellar title.

The third installment of the action-adventure hacking series by Ubisoft, WatchDog: Legion is set within a dystopian London. A hacker group known as DedSec looks to prove their innocence in a series of bombings while liberating the city from a private military company that has turned the land into a surveillance state. Legion marks the first game in the WatchDog series where gamers can take control of multiple characters. If a gritty cyberpunk thriller sounds like a good weekend, you’ll want to grab this title off of Luna while it’s still available.

The Far Cry series has continued to move forward after the first game in the franchise was released in 2004 by Crytek. Far Cry 5, now developed and published by Ubisoft, takes place in a fictional Montana region known as Hope County. A dangerous doomsday cult has taken over the county, and its influential leader, Joseph Seed, sits at its helm. You play as a junior deputy sheriff who has become trapped within the county and must work with the resistance to take down the cult. Full of cults and conspiracy, this combat-focused game is great for any fans of first-person shooters.
