Samsung 32-inch Odyssey G7

This Samsung Odyssey monitor offers gamers the best of all worlds: It’s equipped with a gorgeous QHD display to take advantage of higher resolutions, and can support up to a 240Hz refresh rate for super-smooth gaming action, plus a 1-millisecond response time. Samsung’s Quantum Dot technology is also generally the best color and brightness you can get without going with OLED. HDR 600 is also supported to improve game visuals exactly as the developers have in mind. The screen is also curved which, while not great for group viewership, does help encourage a more immersive experience for a variety of games.

We would usually mention here that switching from a TV to a monitor for your console often means getting closer to the screen, too, since monitors are almost always designed for a closer experience. However, the large 32-inch size of this monitor allows you to keep a bit of distance without sacrificing too much otherwise. However, if you do plan on using this monitor in a desk setup (it also supports G-Sync and FreeSync, if you want to connect it to a PC), you can downgrade the size to a 27-inch model to save a little money.

Those looking for a more affordable gaming monitor will be pleased with this curved TUF model. It supports WQHD (2560 x 1440) resolution and offers a 144Hz refresh rate that can optionally be boosted up to 165Hz. We love this well-rounded monitor as a relatively affordable option for any gaming setup if you’re looking for excellent specs on a budget. The monitor offers a QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution, a 1ms response time, and a 144Hz refresh rate for reliable performance across a variety of demanding games. Color accuracy is excellent, and the HDR10 support ensures that compatible games can really show off. Extra gaming modes like the black stabilizer and crosshair setting are also handy if you feel like being extra competitive. Two HDMI ports and DisplayPort are included for multiple connections on more complex setups.

BenQ 32-inch EW327OU

BenQ’s full 4K (3,840 x 2,160) monitor brings unparalleled eye and filter settings. If you have trouble with eye strain, you’ll love intelligent brightness features that adjust both brightness and color temperature (how much like “daylight” the light spectrum is) based on both content and ambient light conditions. You can also reduce blue light and flicker for added comfort while still enjoying brightness up to 300 cd/m2. Of course, you do have to give up some specs to reach full 4k, which is why the monitor is limited to a 60Hz refresh rate. HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-C are all included for potential video connections.

ViewSonic 32-inch VX3211

This ViewSonic model is also a good option if you are looking for a full 4K display but want to save as much money as you can. It also supports HDR10 for automatically improving compatible games and offers both HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort connections. Different mode options include settings for both games and movies, and a blue light filter option is included, too. There’s also an option to upgrade to a 43-inch 4K model that can easily fill the role of a central TV as well, if that setup is more to your liking!

Microsoft revealed the final two games that will be available for free as part of the Games with Gold program for Xbox Live Gold. The service isn't really going out with a bang, but one of the games is a solid Souls-inspired indie platformer that's worth a download as Games with Gold's swan song.

The two games Microsoft will give away are Level 91 Entertainment's Inertial Drift and Robi Studios' Blue Fire. Inertial Drift is a vibrant, neon-infused arcade racer with unique twin-stick controls that players have to master in order to steer and drift properly. Racing game fans should get a kick out of it, but the game to really care about in this final batch is Blue Fire.
Blue Fire is a 3D platformer, but it takes more inspiration from the likes of Dark Souls and Hollow Knight than Super Mario 64. While it's a pretty fast-paced platformer with a satisfying dash move at its core, it makes players platform through pretty dark and moody settings that interconnect like Dark Souls areas do. The game also sometimes places emphasis on combat, which is usually a bad sign in platformers, fights can actually sometimes be pretty tough and satisfying in Blue Fire.
