Unity’s Paris is by far the largest city in the series’ history, at nearly a one-to-one scale with the historic city. Crowds of over 5,000 dynamic characters swarm its seven districts, intended to give the city a living ebb and flow. Ubisoft also promises that protagonist Arno Dorian is also more detailed than any previous hero, with customizable gear and skills allowing everyone to craft their ideal assassin.
Cooperative play for two to four players is one of the most exciting new features in Unity. Assassins are able to customize their skills within complementary archetypes such as melee, ranged, stealth, and healing, to form a deadly and efficient squad.
Lastly, the trailer also gives a little context for the time travel trailer released recently. During the campaign, Arno is sent forward into the German occupation of France during World War II. There, he has to climb the Eiffel Tower, man turret machine guns, and help the people of Paris rise up against another oppressor from that of his native epoch.
Assassin’s Creed Unity arrives on PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One on November 11.
