Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution 2 kicks off a new chapter for the long-running series’ turn-based strategy play in a July 2 release that’s coming to iOS device, 2K Games confirms. The publisher’s brief announcement confirms the release date — an Android version is  coming “soon” as well — and little else.

New-to-the-series leaders Winston Churchill and John F. Kennedy join a lineup of no less than 16 others, and newly released screens reveal that the game switches to a square-based grid, away from the series-standard hex grid.

Civilization Revolution was released in 2008 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as a simplified, console-based take on the series. An iOS version followed in 2009. Revolution proved that the series could work without a mouse/keyboard, though the strategic depth was lacking compared to other games in the series. The technological leaps that we’ve seen since that 2009 release should hopefully result in a much more robust Civilization experience.

The long-gestating Borderlands movie is now out in theaters. You can go see it this weekend, or, if reviews are any indication, you might want to stay home and play some Borderlands games instead. And right now you can get the whole series at a deep discount on just about every platform.

The easiest way to build out your Borderlands collection is through Borderlands Collection: Pandora's Box, a bundle that consists of Borderlands 1, 2, and 3, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Tales from the Borderlands, and New Tales from the Borderlands, along with each game's DLC. The collection is normally $150, but you can get it now for $37.49 on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Steam. It even came to Nintendo Switch this week, and is available for the same price. All deals appear to expire on August 15. You can't get this bundle on the Epic Games Store, but the platform is also holding a franchise sale.
