Deltarune Chapter 2 will get a surprise release tomorrow

After waiting nearly three years for a sequel, Deltarune fans finally got their wish last night. Following a stream celebrating Undertale‘s sixth anniversary, creator Toby Fox dropped a surprise announcement for Deltarune Chapter 2, which revealed that the game would be releasing not a year or month away, but just two days later.

Deltarune Chapter 2 will be officially released at 5 p.m. PT on September 17, and according to a post on the Undertale Twitter account that shows a small snippet of gameplay, it will only be playable on PC and Mac. That’s a stark contrast to Deltarune Chapter 1, which is available on the Switch and PlayStation4, as well as PC and Mac. It’s not known when or if Deltarune Chapter 2 will come to those platforms.

Similarly, there’s the question of if people who played Deltarune Chapter 1 on the PS4 or Switch will be able to transfer their saves anytime soon. The game’s website includes an FAQ that explains that players who completed the first game on PC will be able to move their finished save over easily. However, it goes on to say that, “as long as you generally remember what happened story-wise [in Chapter 1], you’ll be fine.”

Yesterday’s announcement is fitting for Fox, who also revealed Deltarune Chapter 1 out of the blue during a 2019 Nintendo Indie Showcase. It’s important to remember that while Deltarune Chapter 1 was free for anyone to play, the game’s announcement trailer said that other chapters wouldn’t be. A price for Deltarune Chapter 2 hasn’t been revealed just yet.

You can get NBA 2K23 and more with PS Plus this June

The three games that make up PlayStation Plus Essential's June lineup have been revealed. There are any major console exclusives or no releases included; instead, there's NBA 2K23, a Jurassic Park tie-in title, and an indie game inspired by classic samurai films.

NBA 2K23 needs little introduction, as it's the latest entry in 2K's long-running, annualized basketball video game series. This latest entry stands out from the ones that came before by deepening the controls an AI further, as well as adding a Jordan Challenge mode that chronicles Michael Jordan's career. Beware of some pretty intrusive microtransactions, though.
Also available this month is Jurassic World Evolution 2, a theme park management game that swaps out roller coasters and other festivities for dinosaur-related attractions. The management genre is a surprisingly great fit for the Jurassic Park IP, and this game even provides a bit of story context to fill in the gap between Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Jurassic World Dominion.
Finally, there's Trek to Yomi, a very cinematic indie game. It's stylized like a classic black-and-white samurai action movie, which makes sense as it's telling a revenge story about a pupil trying to avenge their dying master. If you didn't play this game through Game Pass, it's now available on a Sony subscription service as well.
This certainly isn't the most exciting game lineup, but it still provides a wide variety of gaming experiences. NBA 2K23, Jurassic World Evolution 2, and Trek to Yomi will be available through PlayStation Plus from June 6 until July 3. Make sure you download May's PS Plus games before then too.

Alan Wake 2: release date, trailers, gameplay, preorder, and more

The original Alan Wake is a game that went through quite a troubled development before it was finally released. After many iterations and changes in scope and direction, the final product was initially a cult hit but didn't hit the mass market it needed -- at least not initially. After two DLC episodes, a sequel was in the works to build upon the first game and revive some of the elements that had to be cut from the first in order for it to ship, but this was ultimately not meant to be. The sequel was canceled and a smaller downloadable game, Alan Wake's American Nightmare, was released instead.

Since then, we hadn't heard from our intrepid writer until he showed up in a very unlikely place. Featured in the AWE expansion for a completely different game, Control, Alan was back in the picture. With a remaster of the initial game catching everyone up on his first appearance, now was the perfect time to announce that the long-awaited sequel was back in development. We haven't found all the manuscript pages yet, but here is everything we know about Alan Wake 2.

New Alan Wake 2 trailer revealed along with October release date

During the May 2023 PlayStation showcase, Remedy Entertainment revealed that Alan Wake 2 will finally launch on October 17 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Remedy showed off a new trailer for the game, which begins with the murder of FBI special agent Robert Nightingale. It's revealed that Nightingale was tracking down "some sort of writer" and it appears that his killer was playing psychological games with the investigator before the murder. The killer also leaves a note that directly addresses the two agents that are tasked with investigating the murder.
