Destiny’s weekend-only vendor, Xur, extends his stay after PSN/Xbox Live hacks

destinys weekend vendor xur extends stay psnxbox live hacks destiny
Xur is sticking around in the Tower until Monday, December 29, at 10pm PT, Bungie confirms.

Every Destiny fan looks forward to Friday morning, when Xur, Agent of the Nine, takes up residence in the game’s social hub, the Tower, for two days. Xur sells some of the game’s rarest gear, as well as upgrades for the same, and his selection of goods changes with each new week.

This turns every Xur visit into an event, but it also means that many PlayStation and Xbox users affected by the Christmas outages on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live, respectively, are out of luck. Or they would be, if Bungie hadn’t extended Xur’s stay.

“We understand that Xur has been hard to reach for a lot of you this weekend, so we’re going to extend his stay,” Bungie community manager David “Deej” Dague writes on Bungie.net. “Our current plan is to allow him to remain in the Tower with his current inventory until Monday night at 10pm PST, just before the weekly reset. We’ll also keep an eye on the overall situation, and prolong the extension, as needed, for as long as is feasible.”

So there you have it, folks. Get to spending those Strange Coins while the getting’s good!

Destiny 2 Legendary Shards guide: What they are and how to get them
Legendary Shards Destiny 2

A lot has changed between Destiny and Destiny 2. Gone and reworked are the original game’s ludicrous number of currencies and items, which has streamlined the ways in which you can upgrade your weapons and armor. A single currency called “Legendary Shards” are now used for upgrading high-level gear, and they’re essential to getting the best, most powerful weapons and armor in the game. With the launch of the game's second expansion, Warmind, the level cap is higher than ever, and you have the ability to raise your overall Power even higher through shards.

But if you’re not familiar with Legendary Shards and their uses, they can be tough to come by and easy to squander. Here’s everything you need to know about Legendary Shards, including what they’re good for, who you can give them to, and why you should hang onto them.

How to revive dead companions in Baldur’s Gate 3
Withers offering services to the player in Baldur's Gate 3.

You're given a good bit of leeway during battles in Baldur's Gate 3 before you or a companion actually bites the dust for good. While in battle, if a teammate does take enough damage to drop, they aren't dead then and there. Instead, they will be downed with a chance to roll every turn to get back up. If they roll successfully three times, the battle ends, or you use another character to pick them up, they're good. If they fail that roll three times, however, they will be completely dead. That can be harsh when you've become attached to certain characters and want to further their stories, so you'll be looking for any way you can to bring them back. Thankfully you do have a few options for reviving companions in Baldur's Gate 3, but just like respeccing, they aren't so obvious.
Pay Withers to bring them back

Withers is a friendly undead you can find in a secret room in the Dank Crypt found inside the Overgrown Ruins. After finding and speaking to him in his sarcophagus, he will offer you various services, one of which is bringing back any dead companions. He won't do this out of the kindness of his heart (probably because it isn't beating) and will charge you a heavy fine of 200 gold to do so. Still, that's a small price to pay to bring back a beloved character. Once paid, that character will appear in your camp where they would normally be, so there's no need to go back to their corpse and find them.
