There’s a mandate in public relations – not just video games PR, but PR in general – that basically boils down to: don’t ever say “no.” When you’re trying to sell someone on a product, whether it’s press, retailers, or consumers, it’s advisable to carefully word your responses to difficult questions in a hopeful way, even when the real answer is, in fact, no.
How refreshing then to see Devolver Digital refuse to swallow that crap and just say up front: hey, Gamescom-attending gamer, don’t ask us these dumbass questions about Dennaton Games’ Hotline Miami 2, please. The image at the right (click to enlarge) was spotted by one of the show attendees at Devolver’s booth and shared on Twitter (via NeoGAF). It’s direct and to the point. We like it.
Last we heard, Hotline Miami 2 is coming to PC/Mac/Linux in fall 2013. The game is also coming to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in 2014, as Sony confirmed at its Gamescom press conference. We saw HL2 and chatted with Dennaton’s Dennis Wedin at E3 2013 back in June and left the appointment encouraged by everything we learned.
