Dungeons & Dragons fans get ready – Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach is now open for public beta. The game is being developed by Turbine, the company responsible for the online RPG Asheron’s Call, and is under license from the Hasbro Properties Group.
The Dungeons & Dragons: Stormreach beta, which has a limited amount of beta tester openings, is being exclusively hosted by IGN Entertainment. Turbine said that this is the first and only MMORPG based on the Dungeons & Dragons franchise. It features highly customizable characters which are built around D&D’s legendary character development system. The D&D world being used for Stormreach is based upon the Eberron campaign.
“Fan acceptance is very important to the overall success of any game,” said Rachel Hoagland, director of Digital Entertainment for the Hasbro Properties Group, in a statement. “We are thrilled that Turbine is tapping into the gaming community, specifically the D&D fan base to ensure Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach delivers an authentic and satisfying D&D and MMO experience.”
