Electronic Arts yesterday said they’d ported over a Battlefield game to the Playstation 2 and Xbox video gaming systems. Called Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, it is available now for $49.99 and has a rating of T for Teen.
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, developed jointly by EA and Digital Illusions, puts players into modern day battles. The single player game highlights what EA calls the “Hotswapping” feature, which allows players to take control of any soldier in their squad. Players will fight on both sides of a conflict, and “in the end must choose which army they will lead to victoryâ€.
In addition to the single-player campaign, Battlefield 2: Modern Combat can be played in an online multiplayer environment that supports up to 24 players. Players can choose to fight for one of four military superpowers: the United States, the Chinese, the European Union, or the newly formed Middle East Coalition. Players can also increase their rank and garner promotions that are tracked globally.
Players can choose from more than 30 vehicles including helicopters, and more than 50 weapons, and communicate with one another in real time via a USB headset.
