Fortnite: When is Ariana Grande’s virtual concert and how to attend

Ariana Grande is the latest icon making a “grande” entrance into the world of Fortnite. Like the latest Icon addition, LeBron James, Ariana will appear with skins, bling, and other accessories purchasable in Fortnite‘s in-game shop. The main draw is that she’ll be headlining the newest in-game concert titled the “Rift Tour” from August 6-8.

Travis Scott and Fortnite Present: Astronomical (Full Event Video)

Fortnite‘s last big concert came from rapper, singer, and songwriter Travis Scott, in the form of Astronomical. The collaboration with Ariana Grande is the popular battle royale’s second go at an epic virtual concert experience on that level.

The concert is sure to attract a lot of public attention, from Fortnite-faithful to Ariana fans and those who just want to experience the event. Here’s what you need to know so you don’t miss your chance to catch the show.

Download the latest update

Before anything, you’re going to want to download Fortnite‘s v17.30 update. It’s important to install the update early — well before the actual concert — so you’re not stuck downloading an update while the show is happening. Without it, you won’t be able to attend.

RSVP for your concert(s) of choice

While the RSVP won’t ensure you a seat in the concert, it will act as a reminder as to when you should join the playlist. It’s not a necessary step, but a recommended one. You’ll be able to RSVP within Fortnite. When logging in, a menu will pop up that lets you check a date. There’s also an RSVP tab in the game, which you can click into to select a time.

You can choose from a multitude of dates and times to attend. You may also go to more than one show, if you wish. Here are the current showtimes.

  • Friday, August 6, at 6 p.m. ET
  • Saturday, August 7, at 2 p.m. ET
  • Sunday, August 8, at midnight ET
  • Sunday, August 8, at 10 a.m. ET
  • Sunday, August 8, at 6 p.m. ET

Log in to Fortnite an hour or more before your event time

Epic recommends loading up Fortnite 60 minutes before your selected concert set begins, as the Rift Tour playlist will go live 30 minutes ahead of each show. Of course, with so many players looking to attend thanks to Ariana Grande’s reach, you may want to log on even before that in case of potential server login errors from so many players.

Make sure you make time for multiple concerts if needed

It is a possibility you may be locked out of your show of choice, so you should prepare to possibly follow these steps for another date instead. Thankfully Epic is bringing multiple showings to Fortnite with one on August 6 and 7 respectfully, and three for August 8.

How to survive storm phases carrying an Epic weapon in Fortnite
Character jumping while holding Epic weapon in Fortnite.

A new Fortnite challenge for surviving storm phases while carrying an Epic weapon has caused some confusion, as the quest's wording isn't exactly clear. Thankfully, the challenge is much easier than it seems, and once you know what to do, you can get through it relatively quickly. Here's how to survive storm phases while carrying an Epic weapon in Fortnite.
What is an Epic weapon?
Fortnite uses a rarity system with its weapons, which are denoted by colors. Purple weapons are Epic, but keep in mind you can utilize any weapon of higher rarity to complete this quest. As long as the weapon is at least Epic, you'll earn credit for surviving storm phases.
How to get an Epic weapon

There are several ways to get Epic weapons. One way is to simply find one from chests or as floor loot, but this isn't as reliable. You can also purchase Epic weapons from NPCs around the map. Nearly all main hubs have an NPC who sells weapons, so be sure to talk with them if you have the funds. Using an Upgrade Station is another solid option for collecting an Epic weapon, though it's expensive. Another option is to defeat the Highcard Boss found at Brutal Bastion, Shattered Slabs, and Mega City. Upon defeat, the Highcard Boss drops a Mythic Havoc Suppressed Rifle.

How to give specialist a command in Fortnite
Character interacting with NPC in Fortnite.

As part of Fortnite's Spring Breakout Daily Quests, players are tasked with giving a hired specialist character a command. Of course, the game doesn't specify how to do this exactly, leading to some confusion amongst the community. Thankfully, we've got everything you need to know about completing this new quest with ease in Fortnite.
How to hire a specialist

Specialist Characters are specific NPCs all around the map. If you pull up the quest itself, you'll actually see a map of all the Specialist Characters. Keep in mind that not all NPCs fall into this category, so be sure to look at the map. We like the one to the very north of Breakwater Bay as it's usually out of the way. Once you find them, you'll need to pay 200 Gold Bars to hire them. If you don't have the funds, be sure to play more and complete bounties as needed.
How to give a character a command
After you've hired the Specialist Character, they'll be on your side for the duration of the match. If you look at the top left side of the screen, you'll see an icon that represents the Follower Communications wheel. Press and hold left on the D-pad on console or the middle mouse button on PC to get this menu to appear. Once it does, you can pick from a list of commands such as wait or follow. To complete the quest, you simply need to issue one command and after the NPC does what you ask, you'll earn credit for completing it.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 has come packing a variety of new locations, items, and features for fans to check out, from an exciting new cyberpunk city to explore to thrilling melee showdowns with the Kinetic Blade. You'll find a lot to get into on the freshly revamped map, and some of it may even be a part of the season's weekly quests, such as the Week 1 challenge "Destroy objects while drifting or boosting in a Nitro Drifter." In this guide, we'll tell you where you can find a Nitro Drifter racing car to knock out this challenge quickly and easily.
Fortnite Nitro Drifter locations

With the addition of multiple new vehicles in Chapter 4 Season 2, you'd be forgiven for not knowing precisely which one is a Nitro Drifter (pictured above). This colorful street racing car can be found in multiple spots around the map, but it's most plentiful in and around Mega City -- which unfortunately isn't one of the best places to land in Fortnite, due to it being a hotspot. If you don't want to deal with all of the competition you're certain to face in downtown Mega City, your best bet for finding plenty of Nitro Drifters is by landing at the racetrack to the north of the city.
