Monopoly: Fortnite Edition

Fortnite Monopoly | Fortnite gifts

The mark of truly knowing you’ve made it, Fortnite now has its own version of Monopoly. But Monopoly: Fortnite Edition isn’t just a re-skin of the classic board game, it’s basically a different game altogether. Players can choose from 27 Fortnite outfits as their pawn. While you can claim locations much like buying property, the name of the game is, fittingly, all about survival.

Supporting 2-7 players, you’ll work your way around the board securing Fortnite landmarks, battling your opponents, and earning HP chips to help you survive. Battles are conducted through rolling the action die, and you can even snag loot chest items to help you on your journey. Like the video game, the storm threatens to wipe you out of existence. You’ll probably be happy to hear that games don’t last nearly as long as the traditional Monopoly.

ThinkGeek partnered with Epic Games to create some really cool Fortnite action figures. As of now, two of them are available for purchase for $25 a piece. Fortnite‘s Cuddle Team Leader is a seven-inch figure created by McFarlane Toys. The glossy figure has more than 18 points of articulation and comes bundled with a display base, a replica assault rifle, and the Rainbow Smash pickaxe. The Fortnite Skull Trooper figure has all of the same features as Cuddle Team Leader, but comes with a replica sniper rifle and Death Valley pickaxe.

Each lamp typically goes for $45, but they are currently on sale for $35.

Christmas Loot Llama

Move over Rudolph, the Loot Llama is ready to guide Santa’s sleigh tonight. The Battle Royale Shop has tons of Fortnite novelty items, including a very cute Loot Llama dressed up as a reindeer. The Loot Llama plays an important role in Fortnite (dispensing loot), but in plushie form, the little guy can take the season off from getting smashed open to sit by the fire with the family. The Christmas Loot Llama comes in two sizes, 30cm and 36cm. It regularly goes for $35, but right now you can get the large one for $20 and the slightly smaller model for $18.

Fortnite hoodie

While some kids and teens may dislike getting clothes as gifts, they might feel a bit better about it if the clothes are Fortnite-themed. By now, there are tons and tons of shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and even socks that show off one’s love of Fortnite. We found many cool options by searching on Amazon and the Battle Royale Shop.

Since it’s winter, though, we’d like to highlight this simple, but well-made . As you can tell by clicking on those links, some of the clothing options might prove to be less cool than others. For instance, the “Straight Outta Tilted Towers” shirt isn’t advisable. We recommend playing it safe here by sticking with options that just feature the Fortnite name or logo rather than one with a silly catchphrase.

Loot Llama fleece blanket

This Loot Llama fleece blanket is technically marketed for Halloween, but there’s no reason why it wouldn’t be a perfect holiday gift. It’s officially licensed by Epic and is 50 inches long and 60 inches wide.

Storm backpack

Kids shouldn’t be playing Fortnite in class, but they can still bring their love of the game to school with a Fortnite backpack. There are a great number of options to choose from on Amazon, but many of them don’t have any user reviews. This affordable, $20 option has great reviews and an awesome storm-themed design.

How to survive storm phases carrying an Epic weapon in Fortnite
Character jumping while holding Epic weapon in Fortnite.

A new Fortnite challenge for surviving storm phases while carrying an Epic weapon has caused some confusion, as the quest's wording isn't exactly clear. Thankfully, the challenge is much easier than it seems, and once you know what to do, you can get through it relatively quickly. Here's how to survive storm phases while carrying an Epic weapon in Fortnite.
What is an Epic weapon?
Fortnite uses a rarity system with its weapons, which are denoted by colors. Purple weapons are Epic, but keep in mind you can utilize any weapon of higher rarity to complete this quest. As long as the weapon is at least Epic, you'll earn credit for surviving storm phases.
How to get an Epic weapon

There are several ways to get Epic weapons. One way is to simply find one from chests or as floor loot, but this isn't as reliable. You can also purchase Epic weapons from NPCs around the map. Nearly all main hubs have an NPC who sells weapons, so be sure to talk with them if you have the funds. Using an Upgrade Station is another solid option for collecting an Epic weapon, though it's expensive. Another option is to defeat the Highcard Boss found at Brutal Bastion, Shattered Slabs, and Mega City. Upon defeat, the Highcard Boss drops a Mythic Havoc Suppressed Rifle.

How to give specialist a command in Fortnite
Character interacting with NPC in Fortnite.

As part of Fortnite's Spring Breakout Daily Quests, players are tasked with giving a hired specialist character a command. Of course, the game doesn't specify how to do this exactly, leading to some confusion amongst the community. Thankfully, we've got everything you need to know about completing this new quest with ease in Fortnite.
How to hire a specialist

Specialist Characters are specific NPCs all around the map. If you pull up the quest itself, you'll actually see a map of all the Specialist Characters. Keep in mind that not all NPCs fall into this category, so be sure to look at the map. We like the one to the very north of Breakwater Bay as it's usually out of the way. Once you find them, you'll need to pay 200 Gold Bars to hire them. If you don't have the funds, be sure to play more and complete bounties as needed.
How to give a character a command
After you've hired the Specialist Character, they'll be on your side for the duration of the match. If you look at the top left side of the screen, you'll see an icon that represents the Follower Communications wheel. Press and hold left on the D-pad on console or the middle mouse button on PC to get this menu to appear. Once it does, you can pick from a list of commands such as wait or follow. To complete the quest, you simply need to issue one command and after the NPC does what you ask, you'll earn credit for completing it.

The best weapons in Fortnite during Chapter 3, Season 4
New characters from Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 2.

Surviving in Fortnite and securing a Victory Royale takes skill and luck. Getting better at Fortnite requires a knowledge of the playing field and a drive to outlast your opponents, but none of that matters if you aren't picking up the right weapons. Building a loadout that suits your playstyle and managing your inventory as the match progresses is key to snagging a win. You don't want to be caught in a long-range battle against someone on a mountaintop without a solid rifle on hand, and you certainly don't want to find yourself inside a close-quarters building without an SMG or shotgun.

Our guide to the best weapons in Fortnite breaks down rarity types and what they mean, the most effective arms in each weapon category, and tips for how to use them. Chapter 4, Season 2 brought a lengthy list of changes to the Fortnite arsenal -- including new weapons and the return of some fan favorites.
