Fortnite season 5 week 5 challenge: Dig up gnomes from Fort Crumpet and Pleasant Park

Fortnite’s season 5, week 5 challenges are live, and this week, you’ll be sent on a quest to find a batch of garden gnomes. There are actually a few gnome-related challenges, but the first one you can attempt requires you to dig up gnomes from Fort Crumpet and Pleasant Park. Do not confuse this challenge with the other one for collecting gnomes from Fort Crumpet and Holly Hedges, as they are two separate quests (you must complete this one first before unlocking the rest).

For this challenge, you must find all four gnomes — two at Pleasant Park and two at Fort Crumpet. In this guide, we’ll show you exactly where to find all four, along with tips to make it as easy as possible for you. Here’s where to dig up gnomes from Fort Crumpet and Pleasant Park in Fortnite.

Gnome locations

Below, we’ll show you the locations of all four gnomes. Keep in mind that there are two in each location, and they can be dug up in any order. The other thing to note is that these locations are extremely busy because of the challenge, so we absolutely recommend attempting it with a squad. You’ll be glad you did. It doesn’t appear like there is only one of each gnome, which means you can dig one up even if someone else has already done so.

(We landed around several other players and they all seemed to be digging for gnomes, but more testing might be needed to reach a final conclusion.) Nonetheless, head to each spot with a squad and you’ll be just fine. Gnomes are indicated by little mounds of dirt, so slash it with your pickax to uncover them. We’ll include the gnomes’ locations on the map, as well as a screenshot of their positions in-game.

The next gnome in this area is found in the center section of grass on the eastern side (just northeast of where it says “Pleasant Park” on the map).

Moving onto Fort Crumpet, the first gnome is found on the northern side on the ground level, under a wooden platform by the stone wall.

As for the final one, it’s also on ground level, but on the western side of the area not far from the previous gnome.

Once you’ve got all four, you’ll gain credit for completing the challenge along with 20,000 XP.

Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 3 is out now and offers way more Mad Max than Fallout
A bunch of Fortnite characters, including Magneto and somebody in Fallout power armor, standing in a desert with "Wrecked" spelled out on the bottom

The new season of Fortnite has begun, bringing players to a Mad Max- and Fallout-style wasteland full of ridiculous vehicle features and new items, including a War Bus you can work to control.

The "story" of Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 3, which is out now, revolves around a huge sandstorm has swept over the battle royale island. This has ushered in the "Wasteland Warriors," who rode in with the storm and transformed the south of the map with new locations. One is the Brutal Beachhead, a beached ship with what looks like a huge bitemark in the front.

Can you fix the Fortnite servers not responding error?
Nanner Ringer emote in Fortnite

The last thing you want to see when loading up Fortnite for a match with your friends, especially when a big new update is dropping, is to be hit with an error. The worst of which might be the "Fortnite servers not responding" error due to how vague it is. Most people don't know what servers are, let alone what it means when they aren't responding, except that you can't play your game. The question then becomes if you have any power to solve this issue yourself or if you're forced to wait until Epic Games addresses it on its end.
Can you fix the servers not responding error in Fortnite?

The first thing to do when encountering this error in Fortnite is to go straight to the Epic Games Help website or X account (formerly Twitter). This will let you know if it is something on Epic Games' end that is the issue and also keep you updated on the status of when the servers are expected to be fixed. Servers can also be taken down for maintenance or in preparation for major updates, which will also be accounted for here. If this is the case, there's nothing to do but wait until they announce the servers are back up and running.

Where to find Vendetta Flopper in Lego Fortnite
Characters fishing in LEGO Fortnite.

The fishing update to Lego Fortnite added, you guessed it, the ability to fish once you've made yourself a rod. Of course, since fish didn't exist in the game before this, an entire school of undersea life needed to be created. Every fish you can catch has a different benefit, from restoring a bunch of health when you eat it to giving you some kind of buff. The rarest and most useful fish is certainly the Vendetta Flopper, making it the most coveted catch in the game. While fishing is still heavily dependent on luck, you won't even have a chance at this fish unless you know where to cast your line.

Before you even attempt to attempt this legendary catch, make sure you're ready with an Epic fishing rod and Epic Bait Bucket to give yourself the best chance at a rare catch. The nest step is to only cast into the glowing purple zones that indicate the presence of rare fish. Fishing in any other part of the water won't yield the Vendetta Flopper we're after.
