Sure, you say you love the Halo franchise, but do you own the very first game’s soundtrack… on vinyl?
As part of the celebration surrounding this week’s ten-year anniversary of Halo: Combat Evolved hitting shelves, the game itself is not only getting a re-release — the appropriately named Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary — the soundtrack is also getting a few tweaks for 2011.
If you’re the sort who has a soft spot for vinyl (or a Halo completist), Sumthing Distribution is offering a limited-edition Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary soundtrack on vinyl that also comes with a download code for digital versions of the tracks. For $24.99. you get the best of both worlds.
Still, if the allure of vinyl isn’t really your thing, there will also be a double-disc remix of the Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary soundtrack ($14.99) that offers re-orchestrated versions of the original score by Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori. The two-disc set features 39 tracks of Halo audio for your listening pleasure.
Both versions of the Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary soundtracks will be released on November 15, ten years after the original Halo: Combat Evolved hit shelves.
