Here’s where to buy the Nintendo Switch

Retailers have plenty of Nintendo Switch systems in time for the holidays

Nintendo Switch
Nintendo’s newest console, the Switch, launched back in March, but finding one was difficult for months afterward. Though Nintendo stepped up production in an effort to better meet demand, retailers seemed to be constantly running out of stock. At this point, however, the system is no longer in short supply, and you shouldn’t have trouble figuring out where to buy the Nintendo Switch.

If you are trying to figure out where to buy the Nintendo Switch right now, GameStop is currently your best bet, though depending on availability, you may need to purchase as part of a bundle. That isn’t so bad. More than other consoles, most people will find themselves buying a lot of accessories to maximize the experience, and some of these bundles also come with great games for the same price as if you were to buy them separately.

Below, we have the latest availability information for GameStop, Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and Toys “R” Us. Additionally, a page on Nintendo’s official website lists the major retailers currently offering the Switch. It’s a good idea to check back down the line for additional retailers.

GameStop

GameStop currently has a few versions of the Nintendo Switch hardware available, both in-store and online. These include the standard neon and gray Switch systems, as well as bundles containing Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 2. For the Sonic and Pokémon lovers in your life, you can even get the system bundled with Sonic Forces or Pokkén Tournament DX.

Stand-alone accessories and games are also available to order right now, including the Pro Controller, Hori screen protector, and Nyko portable docking kit.

Amazon

The Nintendo Switch is available for purchase in both its neon and on Amazon for $300, which should give you plenty of time for shipping before Christmas or Hanukkah. However, Amazon doesn’t offer the same great deals on bundles as GameStop does. Third-party vendors are attempting to sell their own bundles — typically with a game and a memory card — for hundreds of dollars above what they would normally cost.

Cases, Joy-Cons, and screen protectors are all available through Amazon, too, including the Pro Controller.

Best Buy

The Nintendo Switch is currently available online in its gray configuration, while the neon version is available at select stores. Just like with GameStop, a number of bundles are also available with games included, including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Unlike GameStop’s offer, however, this includes a digital download code rather than the physical game.

Carrying cases, AC adapters, extra Joy-Con controllers, and charging docks are all available on Best Buy’s website.

Target

Target currently has the Nintendo Switch in stock in both its gray and neon configurations, thought the website notes “quantities limited.” Recently visiting stores in-person, we typically found between five and 15 consoles available to purchase. You can also pick up accessories like additional Joy-Cons, a replacement dock, and most available games both in-store and online.

Walmart

Walmart does not have the Switch in stock online at the moment, but you can use their in-store pickup service to reserve a system with gray Joy-Cons at your local store. A number of bundles are also available containing several games, but like the bundles on Amazon, these are marked-up systems sold by third-party vendors.

Customers can also sign up to receive in-stock alerts through Walmart. You can sign up for notifications for both the Switch with gray Joy-Con and the Switch with red-blue Joy-Con inventory pages.

Extra Joy-Con controllers, charging grips, and cases are also available.

Toys “R” Us

Toys “R” Us has made valiant attempts to keep its shelves stocked with a few Nintendo Switches, but it hasn’t been able to keep hold of them for long. There are no Switches in stock right now, whether you’re looking to buy one alone or as part of a larger bundle online. We have a heard the retailer has some stores may have a limited number of the consoles with gray Joy-Cons. You can buy accessories and games, including additional Joy-Cons, Pro Controllers, and docks, but look elsewhere for the console itself.

Updated with information on Target, Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop, and Toys “R” Us.
