Infinity Ward to Stay Open

It is the story that keeps on giving. After reports of Infinity Ward’s imminent demise began to circulate, it now seems like the bleeding will finally stop, and the company that had lost over a third of its staff following the controversial decision to fire the president and CEO, will remain open. Not only that, work will continue on Modern Warfare 3.

Following an investor meeting today, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick updated investors on the most recent departures, and confirmed that Infinity Ward will stay in business.

Kotick told investors that since Jason West and Vince Zampella had been fired, 35 employees had left, but Infinity Ward would not be closing.

According to Gamespot, Kotick said that Infinity Ward “remains an important studio,” and that the developer was currently working on the next Modern Warfare 2 DLC, as well as an unnamed “next big project,” which numerous court documents have confirmed as being Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Good news for Activision, who have been lawsuit free since April 28th!  Way to go, guys!

Characters shooting enemies in Warzone 2.0.

The highly anticipated Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 Season 3 will include a long-requested feature that fans have been clamoring for. The update will feature the return of one-shot snipers, which have been absent from Warzone 2.0 since its launch (with a couple of temporary exceptions here and there). Activision shared the news via a blog post, which featured more details about what to expect from the upcoming season.

Previously, it would take at least two shots to down a fully-plated enemy in Warzone 2.0, which effectively rendered snipers useless. Since the game's launch in November 2022, a large portion of the community has requested that one-shot snipers be added back into the game. Activision's blog gives a bit of detail about what to expect from the chance.
