Kinect Star Wars game and Xbox 360 bundle delayed until 2012

Can you feel that? The disturbance in the Force? It’s like millions of voices that have been crying out in terror about the upcoming holiday season’s video games were suddenly silenced.

Too Forced? (heh) There’s good news and bad news for Xbox 360-playing fans of Star Wars. The release of the upcoming Kinect Star Wars Kinect game has been pushed out into 2012, Microsoft has confirmed to OXM. Bad news for those who were looking forward to playing the game. But good news too, because it’s one less thing to have to buy this fall!

The delay also means that the super-cool Xbox 360 Kinect Star Wars bundle will be pushed back as well. That’s the real relief for Star Wars fans (like me) who look forward to having an R2-D2-themed Xbox but shudder in fear at the $450 price tag.

A statement from MS lays out the very justifiable reason for the delay: “Microsoft and LucasArts have elected to move the launch of Kinect Star Wars beyond holiday 2011 to ensure the full potential of this title is realized. This move applies to both the Kinect Star Wars stand-alone game and the Kinect Star Wars Limited Edition Console. We will communicate additional timing information at a later date.”

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor comes packing a significant upgrade to its predecessor's customization, exploration, and other features – including a whole new skill tree for you to dig into on your journey through the galaxy. This eagerly anticipated sequel boasts a total of three main skill types and nine total trees to invest in, meaning that you'll have an opportunity to build main character Cal Kestis however you'd like. Luckily, if you're feeling any remorse about where you've put your points, you can easily respec them and try again – for a price.

However, before we tell you how to respec, keep in mind that you can earn skill points infinitely, so you can technically max out every skill tree by the end of the game. This means that most of your choices won't hamper your progress too much, especially if you're exploring thoroughly, scanning everything with BD-1, and uncovering hidden skill points all around the biomes. Still, if you're regretting a skill or two, let's respec them, shall we?

You can respec very easily in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, so don't be too alarmed if you've made a bum choice or two. Simply visit any meditation point in the game and open up your skill trees. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor release time

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will launch on April 28, 2023, but will have a simultaneous global release. This means that in some regions of the world, you'll actually be able to play it on April 27. On the West Coast of the U.S., the game goes live at 9 p.m. PT, and at 10 p.m. CT in areas like Mexico City. In most other regions, players will need to wait until April 28 to begin playing.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor file size
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be a massive game, at least in terms of storage size. On PC, it clocks in at a whopping 155GB; on PS5, it's 147GB, and on Xbox Series X|S, it's 134GB. You might have to clear some room for this game in order to play it when it launches.
