The Last of Us creator Neil Druckmann has confirmed that the planned big screen adaptation will stick to the plot of Naughty Dog’s game (via IGN). His remarks come from an appearance at 2014’s BAFTA Game Awards, where The Last of Us picked up five awards, including the show’s top prize. He didn’t go into any specifics, but that seems to largely stem from the fact that they haven’t been hashed out yet.

“It’s an adaptation of the story of The Last of Us,” he said. “As far as where we go and how we make it fit into a film, how it takes into account the unique properties of film… We’re not sure yet. We’re only just scratching the surface.”

Druckmann is tasked with writing the script for the film, which will be produced by Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures. It’s still extremely early in the process, given that the initial announcement happened just last week. Still, the revelation that the movie will stick to the plot of the game in some form or another says quite a lot. Now settle in and think about what you’d like to see from a direct adaptation of The Last of Us, since it’s likely going to be two or more years before there’s an actual movie to see.

The Last of Us Part 2 almost had a very different ending, according to Remastered commentary
A house burns in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is a strange blend. On one hand, it’s a good excuse to revisit Digital Trends’ 2020 Game of the Year selection. On the other, it’s a bizarre package filled with tone-deaf bonus modes that water down the base game’s own message on cyclical violence. Considering that it’s not as much of a “remaster” as its title implies, I wouldn’t blame most players for skipping it.

There is, however, one good reason to check the package out. The new release contains an extensive commentary track featuring the game’s cast, creative director Neil Druckmann, and others. It’s several hours worth of insight that plays over nearly every single cinematic in the adventure, and it often gives some illuminating information on the project. It’ll help you better understand the nuances of specific scenes and how actors approached their characters.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered: best weapons and upgrades for No Return
Tommy crouches in grass in The Last of Us 2 Remastered

No Return is The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered's intriguing new roguelike mode, which tasks you with enduring various challenging encounters on a path to a final boss -- all while having only a single life. Once you die, your run is over, and you'll be forced to start over with a brand-new run without anything you collected previously. And with so much at stake, it's important to know which weapons and upgrades to prioritize throughout each of your runs to improve your chances of survival. Here are our picks for the best weapons and upgrades in No Return.
Any fully-kitted weapon
Look, let's get something out of the way -- if you're playing No Return and get an opportunity to pick up a fully-kitted weapon, either from the Trading Post or as a reward for a Dead Drop, absolutely make this a core part of your arsenal. These weapons can make your run drastically easier when used against the right foes at the right time. Cherish them.
Double Barrel Shotgun
The Double Barrel Shotgun shows up fairly frequently in the Trading Post and is among the simplest but most effective weapons to keep on you. Its high burst damage can be a lifesaver if you're getting overwhelmed, and it can greatly assist in taking out larger enemies like Bloaters and Seraphite brutes.

Its best upgrade for the Double Barrel Shotgun is Damage, as the power boost can make a big difference, particularly against bosses. However, since that extra damage isn't likely to make a huge difference against standard foes early on, go for Reload Speed as your first upgrade.
