“Speaking in an online interview, Kojima-san said Xbox 360 was “a little bit more down to earth…so people maybe can join easily to start creating on the 360,” while on the Nintendo Revolution front the DS connectivity and downloadable back catalogue give him “the impression that the developers could create games on less budget”.
The Playstation 3 is arguably more powerful that Nintendo’s and Microsoft’s next generation consoles, and that could pose a problem for developers that are intimidated by the steep learning curve of the Playstation 3. But when the PS2 first came out, developers also complained about how difficult it was to make games on that system, but ultimately it did not stop them. Could it be different this time around?
