Microsoft and LG Team Up For 3D Gaming

According to a Korean press release that Engadget got a hold of and translated, Microsoft has reportedly struck a deal with 3D television maker LG to jointly market Xbox 360 3D games with LG’s 3D TVs.

Bundles of the 55- and 47-inch LX9500 LED TV and an Xbox 360 will be released this June in South Korea. If successful, the bundle will spread throughout Asia, and eventually hit the U.S., although no timetable has been released.

The news isn’t surprising- Sony has already committed to updating the PlayStation 3’s firmware to support 3D gaming– but it is still good news for gamers.

The announcement did not say whether the 3D capabilities will be due to new hardware or a firmware update, but more details should be released in the coming weeks.

Finding the best video games for kids is no easy task. There are a lot of video games geared toward children, and some of the bestselling games of all time are made for a younger audience, but sifting through all the options to find what's "good" is quite the undertaking.

Thankfully, you don't have to go through the process. We've rounded up 30 of the top games for children across PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC. Although we've included ESRP ratings for reference, some of them don't quite fit. For example, Super Mario Odyssey is rated E10+ for everyone 10 and older, but the game doesn't feature any content that really earns that rating, especially compared to previous 3D Mario games.

The best games like The Legend of Zelda
Link runs across Hyrule in the sequel to Breath of the Wild.

The first real adventure many gamers ever experienced was in the world of Hyrule. The Legend of Zelda series was one of the earliest examples of Nintendo paving the way for the types of large-scale, and even non-linear, adventures that really made the player feel like they were venturing into an unknown world and discovering all of its secrets for the first time. Whether your first game was the original adventure on the NES, or The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Switch, it can be hard to imagine any other game satisfying that same sense of adventure, action, and freedom.

Just like Nintendo's Mario series, The Legend of Zelda is another franchise that has managed to keep both its original 2D style of games running alongside the larger 3D offerings. While the two types of games share a lot of the same DNA, there is distinct differences in feeling and satisfaction that each one provides. Whichever style you prefer, many other games have been released that iterate, and improve, on those formulas. With a good while still to go until the sequel to Breath of the Wild finally hits our consoles, we've rounded up all the best games like The Legend of Zelda you can play right now.
