Camouflaged controller and headset coming to Xbox One in October

Xbox One users haven’t had a lot of options to choose from in terms of non-standard controllers and headsets since the console launched in November 2013, but that changes with the reveal of the Special Edition Armed Forces Wireless Controller and Stereo Headset. The two items, which will be sold separately, sport a stylish splash of green-and-black camouflage. It’s subtle, and a welcome break from the predominantly all-black accessories that have been available so far.

The headset and controller are both set to be released in October 2014, with pre-orders in the US and Canada now open. The controller retails for $65 and can be pre-ordered here, while the headset comes in at $90 and can be found here. The two special edition items command a $10 premium over the basic controller and headset for the Xbox One. That’s the price you pay for military style.

The Designed for Xbox Summer Collection 2023

Xbox unveiled the second-ever "Designed for Xbox" collection it partnered with accessory manufacturers to make. Called the Designed for Xbox Summer Collection 2023, it's made up of seven Xbox-compatible gaming devices that sport sparkly, sometimes pastel-like designs.
These accessories will all roll out over the course of the summer. That said, some are actually available today. When it comes to controllers, players can pick up the nebula-like purple PowerA Advantage Wired Controller for Xbox Series X/S - Sparkle controller for $38 as well as two Frosted Diamond and Australian Opal PDP Wired Controllers for $40. For those looking to expand their Xbox system's storage, the pastel-colored WD_BLACK D30 Game Drive SSD for Xbox – Limited Edition Summer Collection also launches today for $130.

That's not all, though. Later this month, on July 24, two new Hyperkin Xenon Wired Controllers for Xbox -- which are built like Xbox 360 controllers -- will release. They are sparkly purple Cosmic Night and sparkly black Twilight Galaxy controllers that will each retail for $50.

Following a multi-week court case, Microsoft has won its battle with the Federal Trade Commission regarding its proposed Activision Blizzard acquisition. The ruling is a major win for Microsoft's troubled deal, clearing the biggest hurdle it faced.

Last January, Microsoft announced its intention to acquire Activision Blizzard for $69 billion. The blockbuster announcement immediately raised antitrust concerns, which resulted in the FTC filing a legal challenge in December 2022. Microsoft has not been able to proceed with the acquisition since then, as its faced similar scrutiny in the U.K.
