More Call of Duty: Black Ops Details Emerge

Activision is back in the news again, but this time with nary a lawsuit in sight (so far). Congratulations to them, as they can now change the “It has been __ many days since our last lawsuit” sign to 13 days.

Details are beginning to come out about the newest game in the Call of Duty franchise. Initial reports set the game during the Vietnam War, which is correct, but Vietnam is likely to be just one of many settings for the game, and the focus will be on the Cold War era, rather than a single location or conflict. Switching between locales is common for the Call of Duty series, and Treyarch’s last entry, Call of Duty: World at War, focused on two separate plot lines- one following a Russian soldier on the march to Berlin, and another focusing on an American marine fighting the Japanese in the Pacific Theater.

USA Today has had a chance to see the game in action and play a short section of the game. The demo level called “WMD”, is set in the Ural Mountains during 1968, and follows a group of four soldiers as they fight Russian troops. The level begins with players taking an overhead view from an SR-71 Blackbird and commanding the movements of the soldiers, before taking control of a soldier on the ground.

Treyarch has also confirmed that the game will have a two to four player cooperative mode, the story will follow at least two main characters, and the game will likely span several years.

As with all sequels, expect new weapons and gadgets, including a crossbow that was previewed in the level. New types of ammo will also be available for use.

But with so many potential landing spots, it's not always easy to pick a drop point, especially if you're unfamiliar with the game. Thankfully, we've got you covered with everything you'll need to know.

Is Modern Warfare 2 cross-platform?
Characters running on highway in Modern Warfare II.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is one of the biggest first-person shooters right now. Since multiplayer is such a major component of Modern Warfare II, you might be wondering if the game features cross-platform play, which platforms the game supports, and how cross-progression works.

In this guide, we'll explain everything to know about cross-platform play in Modern Warfare II.
Does Modern Warfare II have crossplay?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II does support crossplay on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC (via Steam and Battle.net). This means regardless of your platform, you'll be able to play with users on other systems or devices. This works thanks to current Call of Duty games utilizing Activision IDs to track accounts rather than being tied to a particular platform. This does mean you must make an Activision account to play the game.

Vondel is the best Call of Duty: Warzone map ever and it’s not even close
Characters on the Vondel map in Warzone.

Since Call of Duty: Warzone's release in 2020, Activision has released a number of battle royale maps -- some of which have captivated a large audience. Think Verdansk, Rebirth Island, and Fortune's Keep. Though, with the new version of Warzone (formerly referred to as Warzone 2.0), the maps haven't garnered the same positive buzz ... until now.

Alongside the release of Season 4, Activision released the new Vondel map, which takes place in an urban Netherlands city, full of various buildings, a canal, and even a public transit system (via ground or water). Vondel isn't just great, it's the best Warzone map ever made.
What is Vondel?
