The popular survival horror game Outlast has a sequel in development, developer Red Barrels’ Philippe Morin told Bloody Disgusting in a recent interview. The new game will employ the same style of play and feature a story set in the same universe, but feature different characters and locations.

Morin expressed an interest in returning to the Mount Massive Asylum, the first game’s setting, at some point in the future, but for now wants to focus on something new and exciting. Beyond that Morin was mum on details, since the game is early in development and so much of the fun is being surprised by it.

In the interview he also reflects on the process of designing Outlast’Whistleblower DLC and the studio’s general philosophy of focusing on player experience first. It’s a team of only 12 people, and Morin cautioned fans to not expect anything too soon, but Red Barrels is aiming “to make a game we’re scared to play ourselves and trust our instinct.”

Can you play PSVR games on PSVR2?
A side view of the PlayStation VR2, which sits on a wood table.

Backward compatibility was a bit rocky for Sony with the PlayStation 3 generation going into the PS4. Thankfully, that was resolved moving from PS4 to PS5, but that wasn't the only new piece of hardware Sony released. The PlayStation VR2 is, as the name implies, the second generation of the dedicated PlayStation virtual reality headset. Despite taking many design and features from other popular headsets, such as the Meta Quest 2, PSVR2 is made only to work with your PS5. You might assume that this new, more powerful headset would be backward compatible with all the original PSVR titles, but that may not be a safe bet. If you have a library of original PSVR games you want to play on PSVR2, here's what you need to know.
Is PSVR2 backward compatible with PSVR?

No, Sony confirmed prior to the PSVR2's launch that it would not be able to play any of your PSVR games, saying the disparity between the two headset's power and technical differences made this impossible. Whatever the reason, this was a big disappointment to those who supported the PSVR and accumulated a library of titles for it they wanted to bring forward.

One-shot snipers are coming back to Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 for Season 3
Characters shooting enemies in Warzone 2.0.

The highly anticipated Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 Season 3 will include a long-requested feature that fans have been clamoring for. The update will feature the return of one-shot snipers, which have been absent from Warzone 2.0 since its launch (with a couple of temporary exceptions here and there). Activision shared the news via a blog post, which featured more details about what to expect from the upcoming season.

Previously, it would take at least two shots to down a fully-plated enemy in Warzone 2.0, which effectively rendered snipers useless. Since the game's launch in November 2022, a large portion of the community has requested that one-shot snipers be added back into the game. Activision's blog gives a bit of detail about what to expect from the chance.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is getting a new mode and overhauled DMZ in Season 3
Characters parachuting in Warzone 2.0 Season 3.

Activision published a massive new blog post highlighting what to expect from Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 3. The upcoming season, which will launch on April 12, has plenty in store, including new Warzone 2.0 modes, a DMZ overhaul, new weapons, and plenty of additional features.

On the Warzone 2.0 side of things, expect the new Al Mazrah Massive Resurgence mode to drop as soon as the season begins. This will allow players to respawn continuously as long as at least one player on a team remains alive on Al Mazrah, just like Ashika Island. You can also look forward to Plunder and Warzone Ranked to launch as part of the midseason update later on.
