Planned Call of Duty Elite web series will tap Hollywood talent for premium content

If you’re a Call of Duty fan then you probably already know all about the Call of Duty Elite subscription service that will be launching later this year alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Just to recap, it’s a rather broad social media-fication of the popular first-person shooter series. All Duty players will be able to access a detailed array of personal stats and link up with friends, while those who subscribe for an as-yet-undecided monthly fee will also have access to a few additional bonuses, such as clans and tournament play. As we learn today, they’ll also be able to keep up with an upcoming Call of Duty web series.

Activision hasn’t offered up much in the way of detail yet, but the Guardian reports via CEO Eric Hirshberg that the plan is to engage “top Hollywood talent to create linear content that will be exclusive to Elite members.” The plan for now is to simply plant the seeds, but not reveal anything substantive until there’s actually something to show. It remains unclear what form the series will take (i.e. live action, animation, etc.) and what types of talents Activision is looking to tap for the project.

While the actual service won’t be launching until November, alongside this year’s Call of Duty release, players will be able to get their first taste in a beta to be staged this summer. The beta will integrate with last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops, but not to the extent that the full offering will with Modern Warfare 3 and those that follow it. The web content almost certainly won’t be a part of the beta, but hopefully we’ll hear more about it between now and then. If you’re interested in participating in the beta, there’s a sign-up page on the soon-to-launch service’s official website.

The best Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II RAAL MG loadout
The RAAL MG in Modern Warfare II.

When playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, it's best to come prepared with a powerful weapon that can take down opponents quickly. While there are a variety of weapons that fall into this category, currently, the best option is the RAAL MG, in terms of time to kill (TTK). This LMG is dominating the meta right now, thanks to its ridiculous damage output. This weapon has a ton of different attachment choices, making it tricky to build it as effectively as possible.

In this guide, we'll show you the best RAAL MG loadout in Modern Warfare II.

The PDSW 528 in Modern Warfare II.

There's no shortage of fantastic weapons to choose from in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, but if you're looking to dominate at close- to mid-range, you should try the PDSW 528. This SMG -- best known as the P90 in other Call of Duty games -- is great for skilled players, as it has a lot of excellent stats. Sure, newcomers might gravitate elsewhere, but if you know what you're doing, the PDSW can lead you to more victories.

But how should you build the PDSW? In this guide, we'll show you the best PDSW 528 loadout in Modern Warfare II.

The best Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Lachmann Sub loadout
The Lachmann Sub in Modern Warfare II.

In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, having an SMG for close- to mid-range is essential, especially on 6v6 maps. While there are plenty of weapons that work well in this category, few even come close to the Lachmann Sub (or MP5, as it's known colloquially). This SMG is a Call of Duty staple at this point, so it's easy to see why so many have gravitated toward it.

Of course, since weapons and their attachments function differently in this game, building the Lachmann properly is a tricky process. Which attachments are the best and what are this weapon's strong points?
