The PlayStation Experience will take place on December 5 and 6 at the Moscone Center, and the full two-day “Early Bird” ticket option will cost you $60. This is down substantially from last year’s event when tickets for just one day cost $50 and the two-day option was $90.
The announcement video, which you can watch above, gives a recap of last year’s event, including Shuhei Yoshida becoming a character in Super Time Force and a live stage demo of the very soon-to-be-released horror game Until Dawn. Perhaps the most memorable moments from last year, however, came from EA, when the publisher gave away Need for Speed: Most Wanted on PlayStation Vita, Mirror’s Edge on PlayStation 3, and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare on PlayStation 4 (originally an Xbox exclusive) for free during the event — and not just to attendees, but to everyone.
This year’s PlayStation Experience also brings with it the Capcom Cup on Sunday, December 6, a Street Fighter tournament featuring the best players from the Capcom Pro Tour. 32 players will be invited to San Francisco, and there will be $250,000 in winnings available. Last year’s Capcom Cup was also in San Francisco at the Warfield Theater, but included half as many competitors and only about $50,000 in prize money.
Tickets are now on sale for PlayStation Experience 2015, but make sure you factor in the cost of your hotel, as well. The discounted rates Sony negotiated for the Hilton San Francisco will still set you back about $180 per night, while spending both nights at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis will cost you $500.
