On Pokémon Day 2024, we were treated to a sneak peek at a second entry in the Legends series, Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Promising to be an ambitious new adventure in the world of Pokémon, a lot of questions sprung up after the announcement added it into the list of all upcoming video games. So far, we still have more questions than answers, but some careful investigation and digging have given us a better understanding of what’s in store with this upcoming Switch game. Between Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and this, there aren’t that many new Switch games announced so even though it may not be the next generation of Pokémon, there’s a lot to be excited about with this title. Let’s dive into everything we know about it thus far.

Since we’re in a bit of a holding pattern waiting for the Switch 2, you may as well also check out the upcoming PS5 games, upcoming PC games, and upcoming Xbox Series X games.

As of February 2025, Pokémon Legends: Z-A only has a release window of late 2025. Odds are this will be Nintendo’s big fall release, possibly in November, but we will have to wait and see what the final date is.

It should go without saying, but Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be a Switch exclusive. However, it was specifically stated to be coming to “Nintendo Switch family of systems.” With the Switch 2 also set to arrive in 2025, there might be a version of Pokémon Legends: Z-A for the new hardware. If not, it will at least be backwards compatible.

Trailers

Pokemon Legends Z-A Official Reveal Trailer

The reveal trailer for Pokémon Legends: Z-A is brief but does hide some secrets fans have sniffed out. The most obvious is that this game will take us back to Lumiose City, first featured in X and Y. Later, Nintendo clarified that the game will not only be focused on this city but set entirely within it. As to who we are and what we’re doing in the city is still unknown. Fans speculate that the digital and futuristic style of the trailer is hinting at the game being set in the future, contrasting how Arceus was set in the past, but this is all just theorizing.

An Extended Look at Pokémon Legends: Z-A!

We had to wait an entire year until Pokémon day 2025 for a second look at Pokémon Legends: Z-A. This new trailer showed off our first look at the game in action in Lumiose City. The city is currently undergoing an urban redevelopment project to better suit humans and Pokémon coexisting.

The story begins with your characer visiting the city and staying at Hotel Z, which will act as your main base. You will choose from either Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile as your started and meet your ally either Urbain or Taunie depending on what gender you pick for your trainer. Other characters we see include AZ, the hotel owner, Jett, the CEO og Quasartico inc., and Vinnie who works as Jett’s secretary.

This game’s Legendary is Zygarde, a Dragon/Ground Type.

Gameplay

Being set within a single city is quite a departure from the past Legends game, which introduced us to an open-world-style game. City does appear fully explorable, with the ability to go onto and across rooftops. There will be dedicated Wild Zones where Pokémon roam free for you to battle and catch.

Combat looks just like it did in Arceus, but there is are some key new differences here. One, of course, is mega evolutions that completely change your monster’s moves and power. What will be more important to keep in mind, though, is that moves all have ranges now. If you are too far from the enemy when selecting an attack, it can completely miss.

Preorder

Pokémon Legends: Z-A will arrive sometime this year, but we have no date to put on the calendar yet for preorders. Once we do, we will let you know.

Lords of the Fallen 2: everything we know so far
A warrior stands in an Umbral hallway in Lords of the Fallen.

The first big-budget game to follow in the footsteps of Demon's Souls and Dark Souls was Deck13 and CI Games' 2014 title Lords of the Fallen. The game debuted to mostly positive reviews, but wouldn't get a proper follow-up for almost 10 years, which is almost as long as we've been waiting for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Perfect Dark. Originally called Lords of the Fallen 2, we eventually got Lords of the Fallen in 2023. While that was a bit confusing on its own, we can now look forward to the upcoming PS5 game and upcoming Xbox Series X game Lords of the Fallen 2 (or whatever name it ends up launching with), which is technically the third game in the series. We won't have to wait another decade this time, so let's manage our stamina and check out everything we know about this next big soulslike.

Lords of the Fallen 2 will be an upcoming PC game as well, but sadly not an upcoming Switch game. If you want a comprehensive look at all upcoming video games on all platforms, look no further.

All stamp locations in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Key art for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.

Every main Zelda game typically has one "big" sidequest. In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, these were finding the Koroks, for example. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom isn't nearly as large as those 3D open-world games, but it still has a sidequest that will take you to every corner of Hyrule if you want to complete it. This is, of course, Stamp Guy's stamp rally. This stamp enthusiast will give you various stamp cards that you need to fill by finding all the necessary stamps and returning them to him for rewards. Scavenger hunts are plenty fun on their own, but not if you get stumped anywhere along the way. Make sure you pack your best smoothie while we help you find every stamp in Echoes of Wisdom.
Where to find every stamp in Echoes of Wisdom
There are a total of 25 stamps to find, but they are divided into five groups of five for each card. Finishing each card will get you a reward, with the last one being the most special. Stamps are collected at Stamp Stands, which can be anywhere on the overworld, but will not be underwater or in caves or buildings. Technically, you can collect all the stamps in any order, but we will go in the rough order you would naturally come across them.

The best accessories in Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Zelda getting a ring with a frog on it in Echoes of Wisdom.

Equipment has always been a core component of Legend of Zelda series, and Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is no exception. Unlike most past games, however, you won't be getting as many new unique items like bows and hookshots. Instead, you will use your Echoes to solve most problems, but there are a few other new ways to give Zelda an edge. Smoothies are great for temporary buffs, and the new clothing options can occasionally give you a small advantage, but it is the accessories that will make the biggest difference to your build.

These equipable items all have different benefits that range from somewhat useless or only needed in very specific instances, to the kind you will never want to remove. Even if you unlock all the extra slots, there's no way you can equip them all, so make sure you grab these accessories as soon as you can to save Hyrule with ease.
Best accessories in Echoes of Wisdom
There are about 28 accessories in Echoes of Wisdom, although a handful of them are upgraded versions of existing ones that completely replace the original version. In those cases, we will list the best version but tell you how to get the original and upgrade(s) so you can get the best version as fast as possible.
