The Red Planet will run redder with blood in Destiny Mars trailer

In order to tide fans over in the month between the public beta and the game’s launch on September 9, Bungie has released a new trailer for Destiny highlighting the Martian environment. Humanity once built a massive metropolis in the red sand, which has been reduced to ruin and myth. What secrets from our lost age lie buried beneath the dunes, and what perils are there to thwart you?

Bungie also announced at Gamescom that the first expansion for Destiny will be called The Dark Below and launch on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in December, though no details were given of its content.

Destiny arrives on September 9 for PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Destiny 2 adds Halo-like weapons to celebrate Bungie’s 30th birthday

As part of its 30th anniversary celebration, Bungie is adding a variety of Halo-inspired weapons to Destiny 2. The weapons will be available to everyone, not just those who purchase the 30th Anniversary Pack, and are visually inspired by some of Halo's most famous weapons. The celebration went live today alongside a trailer celebrating the anniversary.

Destiny 2 is getting rid of its Forsaken campaign expansion

The Forsaken DLC was added to Destiny 2 three years ago and to this day is still met with the praise of being the game's best expansion. Now, Bungie reports that it will be another piece of the game locked in the Destiny Content Vault, which was introduced last summer. The developers will now focus on the new launch of The Witch Queen update coming in February of 2022.

The Destiny Content Vault was introduced as a way to cycle through select content in order to allow the development team to focus on different expansions and updates. With its launch, Bungie claims that there is a great deal of technical "breathing room," allowing more care to be put into additional renovations.
