If you owned a cellphone in the late ’90s or early 2000s, you might remember playing Snake to pass the time. Snake creator Taneli Armanto has decided to create a sequel to the game that millions around the world played on their Nokia phones almost two decades ago.

The original Snake game was released in 1997. Eighteen years later, Armanto and Rumilus Design have teamed up to create Snake Rewind. You do way more in this version of the game than just collect a fruit represented as a dot on old Nokia phones. Screenshots of the game include players collecting multiple dots and powerups to get the highest score possible.

“Created together with Rumilus Design, Snake Rewind takes the iconic elements and intuitive gameplay from the original Snake game and combines them with cool visual effects, sounds, and innovative new features. The game can be immediately picked up and enjoyed by everyone, while offering many fun and challenging goals and discoveries for a long-lasting experience,” the press release said.

When you played the original game, if you crashed into a wall or into your own tail, the game was over. However, in Snake Rewind, you can rewind the snake after crashing to continue the game. You can also get powerups such as the Fruit Magnet, Trailblazer, and the Score Multiplier. In addition, there will be a “fruit store” where boosters and other items can be purchased and upgraded for use in the game. There will be 10 levels with their own visuals and music that can be unlocked by completing challenging missions. Thanks to the Internet, you can also compete against your friends and the rest of the world for the highest score.

Snake Rewind will be available for free on May 14, 2015, on iOS, Android and Windows Phone. The game will also include in-app purchases.

Leica and Zeiss are two of the most established and respected names in photography, despite being best-known for different products. Leica is famous for its cameras, while Zeiss has made its name with optics. Over the past years, the pair have collaborated with different smartphone manufacturers to improve the camera systems.

Now, in a twist of fate, both have put their names on phones with massive Sony IMX989 1-inch sensors, which are still a rarity in the industry. It sets the scene for a comprehensive camera test to see which brand currently leads in the phone world.

T-Mobile’s newest plans are exciting for new (and old) customers
The T-Mobile logo on a smartphone.

T-Mobile has just unveiled a new set of plans and perks to help both new and current customers break free of lengthy device contracts while guaranteeing you'll be able to get the best deals available on phone upgrades every two years.

Significantly, with the new plans, the "Un-carrier" promises equal treatment for all customers, whether they're coming over from another carrier or have been using T-Mobile's services for years. That's in contrast to the limited-time offers of its rivals, which often ignore their most loyal subscribers in an effort to entice others to switch carriers.

iPhone 14 Pro home screen with custom app icons and the Activity and Fantastical widgets

With the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) set for June 5, the Apple rumor mill has fully kicked into high gear. While the big-ticket announcement will surely be the long-rumored mixed reality headset from Apple, we’re also expecting the next round of software updates: iOS/iPadOS 17, watchOS 10, and macOS 14.

Originally, Mark Gurman at Bloomberg claimed that iOS 17 would be a “quiet” release, then backtracked and said it may bring several highly requested features from users over the years. Reports this week say that iOS 17 will improve some features like search, the Dynamic Island, and Control Center. Now, we're hearing it may even bring us interactive widgets.
